start by searching, dont expect to be spoon fed next time.

remove the cat and put in a midpipe

switch to a aftermarket exhaust

switch to a aem/mazdaspeed cai, or rb revi with duct

buy a cobb ap

turbo/supercharger

engine swap

The only way to get any serious hp gains is FI, turbo or supercharger.

Hope you brought a Nomex Suite...

no problem, people dont like responding to questions that they see atleast 2 or 3 times a day. it gets rather repetitive, very quickly.

spend hours, real long hours reading through different posts. Go through each of the sub forums and read all the posts on each page, then go to the next and then next and then next page.

if you dont know the answer to something, search it on the top, click the drop down arrow and select advanced search. From there it will bring up a new screen and type in your search words and right below it, select show only thread titles.

when you search normally, lets say... horsepower... you will get EVERY thread that has ever been created, with someone posting the word "horsepower", this will return you with a thread about ***** because some idiot said "those ***** gave that car soooo much horsepower" leaving you extremely frustrated.

Sometimes searching for the thread title doesnt work, so you need to search the thread itself, when opening a thread someone posted, on the top right of the thread you can select "search this thread" this allows you to search "horsepower" and it will give you the posts with the word "horsepower" in it. This is effective for searching through threads with alot of pages to sift through.

hope this helped.

2c - to obtain your goal of "effective" HP increase, think in another dimension - mass - decreasing it will increase performance, and in the end is likely cheaper than trying to gain significant HP.... and the results are 'almost' the same, but with add'l positive benefits.

How to get more horse power?

Very easy

Buy a barn with couple hundred more horse. you get can pretty much unlimited horse power, as long as your barn and your wallet is big enough.

or

Just get a different car

I personally went with the Kaleco automotive powerbands, cheapest easiest way to gain hp on our 8's.
Be careful though I had some heating issues running with the powerbands, though the radiator insulator dealt with that pretty well.

All new members need to be aware of Kaleco
