Adding High performance Exhaust makes it pop small Fire?

yes i currently have the AP duel rez cat delete pipe paired up with my stock catback. its a little razpy but i got used to it. i dont get any attetion until i punch the gas (my car looks stock) and it gives a nice deep tone with my intake. i like the smell and my freinds say i get some good flames.

Just a question but why would it be that m/ts easily put out flames, but its near impossible with an auto? Ive taken the catless bandb midpipe route with custom catback for awhile and couldnt get it to happen. I get pops though but no flame...Is it a rpm cutoff issue? Just curious

For the MT and AT the reason it is harder is a pretty simple explanation. With an auto, when the car is about to shift it will cut fuel at or just before the time of shifting so while it is shifting there is barely any excess fuel to be dumped into the exhaust. When you have a MT the car only cuts fuel when WE let off the gas (or hit the rev limit) and this extra second of being on the gas as we shift gears allows the vehicle to send a decent amount of unburnt fuel into the exhaust for detonation.

Makes sense ive been looking for an explaination.... So is this automatic for the system, or would you assume if driving in "manual" mode on an a/t and shifting as high as possible you could trick the system into not cutting the fuel off? Thats the first ive heard of an auto owner getting flames, i was hoping it would be possible to get them on a regular basis
