AEM Intake Done!!
I just got finished installing a AEM intake on a friends RX8. Install took about 2 hours and went real smoothly. Man all I gotta say is this thing sounds sick. At high RPM's when accelerating this thing sounds like a Jap sport bike. All in all it doesn't feel like it had huge improvements in performance but idle has definately improved and accleration has improved in the upper power band.

Really under normal driving conditions it pretty much sounds stock.. Get on it and you can get some attention! (especially under an overpass) Only bad thing is I tend to get on it a lot more now.. Next will be midpipe and exhaust..

I would vote against this intake over the K&N. I ended up taking my AEM off becuse of the filter location. i had to rotate the filter every 2 months because the part facing the font off the car would turn black (even with the supplied "sock" on). MPG was damn good though. 2.5mpg better on the highway.

Ok so i just installed mine and the only thing I'm concerned with is that this system naturally does not use the vacuum controlled solenoid for the valve in the pipe that is behind the front bumper.
Question is: What did you guys do to make this look professional? Did you remove the hardware from the factory box and just let it hang? Did you mount it. Did you simply block the vacuum?
I haven't put the car back together and don't plan to without knowing what others have done.
Thanks, Rishie
