AEM intake HKS Hi-Power Racing Beat V2 Midpipe Combo Sound [VIDEO]

All,

In case anyone was interested in what the above combination sounded like, i have a video for you! The combination of the AEM intake, HKS Hi-Power Exhaust, and Racing Beat V2 Midpipe sounds spectacular, with screaming high RPM intake sound and loud exhaust pops (during fireballs, of course!).

Have you ever run other exhaust setups when tracking the car? If so, what was your impression?

1. The HKS Hi-Power is deeper than any other RX8 exhaust i've heard. RX8 can get high pitched and buzzy with a midpipe and catback.

2. I think the HKS Hi-Power is a hell of a bargain. It's cheap, light weight, and actually streetable. Volume is very tolerable for street.

3. The HKS and stock cat sound was actually "flatter" / more base / boomy. When I put on the Racing Beat v2 DR midpipe, not only did it get a smidge quieter cruising on the highway, but it sounds WAY better at WOT and a little louder at high RPM. More frequencies come through with that midpipe, not just the bass / low end. It sounds SPECTACULAR.

4. TXS catback is a bit high pitched and buzzy when I rode in it on track, but that could be the midpipe it was paired with (don't remember what that was...). Still a cool rotary sound.

5. Oh yeah, I did track my car with stock exhaust. The vacuum cleaner sound wasn't cutting it. I had to listen for the beep or watch the tach to know when to shift. Now I can actually hear the engine!

This post was really just more about how cool my car sounds!

I have a dyno chart since I'm using a NASA dyno reclass. It's about 195 WHP IIRC. I can search for it later (but I'm busy with sorting through track videos so not sure how soon i'll get to it). I'm okay with not having too much power; wouldn't want to carry ballast or get bumped up a class!
