Aeromotive a really drop in a go fuel pump??

Ok I have the Areomotive 11141 340 fuel pump.

True: the pump does drop in and that's about all. There are a couple of issues that you will come across is that the fuel pump filter bag that it come with does not fit Into the stock setup. I will be trying to find one in the morning to get this finished.

I just put one in my car a month ago. It is a direct replacement and I use stock filter bag. I have not tested the pump on Dino yet. All I know is my car ran a lot richer than when I use the old walbro. Old walbro car was idle around 11.2-11.4. With aero motive car was idle in the 9s without adjustment to idle map. It is also pretty quiet and I didn't hear pump whine while driving.

You used the stock sock filter? How it doesn't snap on to the aero. I have one now and im running pretty lean. Car stalls while cornering. Im thinking I installed it wrong.

Those are your AFR's at idle???? Even on the old pump at 11.2 that is very very rich

11.2 you consider rich? I thought anything past 12 is bad? 11.2 at idle that's kinda high. Right now I'm at 10.9 barely but again anything that requires pumping that fuel quick causes me to stall

at idle you should be at 14.6-14.8 average. 11.2 is pig rich, almost the lowest the factory wide band can read (10.8-11.1). 11.2 at wide open throttle under boost would be good.

Hmm well if that's the case then I should be okay. Still having delivery issues I think though. I need that wrench to get back into the fuel pump :/

I highly doubt the pump is the issue, if you are seeing those types of numbers then you have bigger issues going on. But if you still have the Esmeril set up as a blow thru MAF system then I am not surprised.

So you don't think it is the fuel pump? ? I used the filter that came with the pump. Which definitely doesn't fit the rx8. So I didn't know if it was struggling during cornering or load. I ordered stock filters a few days ago to see if I can retro fit it. The aero one is kinda forced in there. :| Also I was reading some site. . I'll have to find it again, but it had to do with adjusting something on the housing for the fuel pump.

Not unless it was installed wrong. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

I have the evo prosport afr gauge. I installed it into where the O2 sensor would go on the Racing beat race pipe. The instructions tell you to install it 36in down from the exhaust mani if you're running FI. As far as tune, i have the haltech kit from esmeril (hate esmeril soooo much), BUT, it is the sprint platinum re ecu and software from haltech, all it seems like esmeril did was buy an extension for the pcm to harness connections. It splices into certain sensors and what not. So instead of stand alone it almost seems like it is piggy backing on the factory ecu.

Oh well there is your problem then. Ditch the Haltech, put the MAF pre turbo, and get a Cobb AP and get it tuned by someone who can tune a turbo RX-8.

It's not installed. I put it in to try it out, just to test if it was an injector control issue. But the car wouldn't even turn over. Not sure if I had to do the new pcm thing with an odb reader like the shop manual talks about. I removed it and she starts. .. barely. .. maf before turbo? Doesn't that mess with fuel calculation? ?

That FB group is referred to as the "all caps group" and is full of absolute dipshits so do not listen to what anyone has to say there.

Now i gotta ship this thing in less than a month I can only drive around in the p lot. I've been going in and out of other threads in here too.

Well you should go back to stock and sell that turbo kit then. The Esmeril kit is crap.
