AFE Pro-Dry filter or Green Filter?
I know it wont make much differance in the end but has anyone heard anything good or bad about either filter for flow and filtration? The AFE using a dual layer dry synthetic fiber mesh vs. The Green's woven oiled cotton as opposed to K&Ns sandwiched oiled cotton

I use the green air filter in my car with no problems pretty much the same as k&n. Go with what every filter you want you will see the same results either with the green or k&n. With an aftermarket drop in air filter you will get alittle better flow and filtration. And in the long run it is cheaper to wash and re oil the filter then to keep buying oem air filters. Whether you decide to order green or k&n make sure to order there filter cleaning and oiling kit

You can soak the MAF with K&N oil and nothing will happen with it. It is an internet wives tale that oil from air filters can foul a MAF.

However, I do agree that it's pretty much a non-issue. If somebody were actually worried about it, I'd just tell them to clean their MAF once a year.

actually it can cause bad maf readings which will cause messed up idle or stalling. happened to me. I just cleaned the maf and patted down the filter with a clothe for any excess oil and all was well again.

For the people that think this is an issue, please read this:

You will find this:
This make us wonder if it is only the oil treatment from reusable lifetime air filters that is alleged cause a vehicle problem? The idea that oil comes off our filter throughout its life is truly ridiculous. Just like oil treated disposable air filters, once our oil is properly and evenly absorbed through the cotton, no oil will come off, even under extreme engine conditions. We have even conducted a test with an over oiled K&N air filter in which we flowed 1,000 cubic feet of air per minute for over twelve hours (few cars or truck could generate even 500 cubic feet of air flow). The use of an absolute filter confirmed that no oil came off the K&N filter tested, even in these harsh conditions.

Sorry to resurrect; but does anyone know why Green filters have become so scarce? I've tired ordering them from different vendors; but they keep contacting me after the order is placed saying they can't get them and need to cancel my order; but will let me know if they can eventually obtain some.
