this is all information i've heard and am not sure about the validity of this, i tried googling it for a source but could not find one, but removing or tampering with the catalytic converter is a federal offense punishable with an up to $800 fine in california. does anyone know if this is true?
i know if a shop tampers with the cat the can receive a $10,000 fine

Just got my AP exhaust installed and damn is it sexy!! But its also loud as hell. AP included their DR midpipe which makes it loud. Will the loudness die down once its broken in? If not, then I might just put my factory cat back on and just use the AP as a cat-back.

i have the same mid pipe. 2 resonators. But i got mine off of sportcompact cars's site i think. Would a stright pipe like the RB b louder? There is a shop close to me that makes test pipes.(evolution performance)

Kicking myself for getting rid of my AP midpipe.
Thought a High-flow-cat would be quiet enough, it was hella loud, and I loved it. Till I got pulled over. Now I'm going to be buying another one off Fluid.. Will a non-resonated high-flow be quieter than this midpipe?
Either way, I don't care.. Just curious

i have the AP DR midpipe with greddy SP2 exhaust. and i love it. i think it sounds great.
the whole "will the sound change when broken in" yes it does. its still loud but its a nicer loud. when you first have it on its a winey loud. after a some mles and high revs the heat it will change. at least mine has...
def puts fireballs out the tailpipes also. doesnt take much to do that on the rotary. its not very loud. its not a POPPING backfire.

I also just installed the AP exhaust yesterday. I didn't want to have trouble with CEL lights so I got the RP supercat with it and sold the race pipe that comes with the AP exhaust. Not a bad deal. this setup is AWESOME in my opinion. Sounds great, notice in power increase, and just looks great. I installed it during an engine performance class i am taking and people from other classes couldn't stop complimenting on its great sound when we started it up. Everything bolted up perfect. and still no cel light.
