I'd say your 1/4 mile time will be about 100 lb faster.

We are no longer offering this kit

Please be aware these kits are NOT emissions legal, and DO void your car warranty from Mazda

Everybody knew that already about the GReddy kit. Changing out your flywheel and pullies will likely void portions of your warranty as well.

Doesnt it say that it will NOT pass emissions?

also the thing about voiding the warranty, if the Turbo was trouble free then Mazda would allow it.

Why do all the cars which have a turbo have a red line which is below 6500rpm?
Why do most cars without a turbo redline below 6500? What's your point?

But dont forget I want to put in a Mazdaspeed flywheel, and if you go to the mazda web site it says the warranty wont be void.

The redline for the RSX is now 8300rpm, 8900rpm for the old s2000, my point is what happens when I drive my RX8 which a turbo and start switching gears at 8600rpm for example?? it wont take it...

The TT rx7 had 255Hp @6500rpm

But the renesis is a new rotary engine. I don't see how you could possibly know what it can take...and why you're comparing it to an RSX engine is beyond me.

That kit is no longer offered because of a computer problem. Mikefrombarrie I know that dmp sounds like a pain in the ***, I was corrected by him on a tire pressure comment, but the guy has very valid points, and is pretty up on his stuff. I win alot of stop light races against "faster"cars because I'm good with the 6 speed. If you can only muster a 15 flat with your car stock, you are going to need big horse power gains to get to 13.9. Run it stock first, then do your mods.

I'm just stating that there are no turbo cars that have such a redline like the rx8

Theres no warranty that the engine can handle a turbo, Mazda will void your warranty and greddy doesnt give one. So my point is, common sense says dont install a turbo or you will have problems

I think it means 'it's not CARB certified.' Lots of parts that aren't carb certified will still pass sniffer tests

Aftermarket parts void warranties only on the parts of the car they affect. It's business sense for Mazda, because they don't want some yokel dumping 50psi of boost thru a rotary, then claiming THEY caused the defect.

I am very flattered, and I apologize if I'm though of as an ***... it's not my intent to do so. I'm pretty un-intimidating; however i have a nasty habbit of trying to correct mis-statements with 'darin's' version of the truth...

Rest of your post was right on target! :D

...because there are no other Rotary - engine cars in production. Nothing to do with turbo or not.

The Ferrari F40 had twin turbos 478 hp and red lined at 8500 the Porsche 959 twin turbo 450 hp 7800rpm. The reason for the lower rpm in some cars is because they have high torque, higher rpm cars a usually have high hp and low torque. Turbos don't equal problems, bad driving and maintenance cause problems. And I asure you if you do anything to your car and you have a problem the dealershipwill try to blame the problem on what you did...Including flywheel intake exhaust etc.

How good can you drive? Have you ever run a 1/4 mile at the track? Your car feels alot faster than it REALLY is? Did you run it stock? If you have never run a 1/4 mile I'd guess with your mods 14.4 at best.

...but can 'you' do better than that? You won't know until you stop forums-drag-racing and actually get to the track, right?

:D
