Anyone have problems with CAI??
Has anyone had any problems with a cold air intake being right in the front of your car? I was thinking it might suck up water has anyone ever had that happen to them?

Never...Had my car for 8 months 10,100km and so far so good!! Park outside and in garage now that it is winter...driven in rain, sleet, slush...no probs... The sound is amazing though...sounds like a real race car... I love it!
BTW I have the MS CAI, can't speak for the others...

I've had my AEM CAI for a few years now and I've never had a weather related incident with it. I even take it through the automatic car wash sometimes and everything is fine. Just check the sock that surrounds the filter every now and then.
I didn't do it once and after taking it to the dealer, they washed the car and the sock started coming off and water made contact with the filter. After a quick acceleration, water came up the pipe and caused a CEL. The pipe needed to be dried and I cleaned the MAF sensor, but it was fine after that.

i have the aem cai and the only time i had issues
was when i was stuck in traffic going to school
on a 3 lane highway.. and there was massive bumper
to bumper traffic and i realized it was cuz of a flooded
section about 30-40 yards that was like 2-2 1/2 ft deep....
i was in the express lane and i couldn't back up, make a
u turn (cuz it's one way with the divider separating the other
side) so i was pretty much forced to move on... *note... interesingly
enough, EVERYONE around me had hummers and huge SUVS*
so my car sucks up water, shuts down... and i was stranded
for about 2 hours. took off my fuel injection and cranked the
ignition every few mins until it finally turned... then i had to sit
there reving the car to spew out all the water.
so what are the chances of something like that happening?? i say
not much (heavily dependent on what area u live in) but it can happen.
my car runs fine and i love my cai =D
just be careful

WOW! i've seen and heard of people experiencing that scenario just described all the time... but i've never heard of anyone actually experiencing it themselves. in short, i'd have to say that you got wtf-pwned.
what i personally would've done to avoid the scenario:
make a u-turn over the median (only after making a very careful scout for the popo) and get the hell away from that flooded area as soon as possible
