living in Europe now i can attest to the economic differences. there are some oddities that are different from the states, but in general you can forget about the exchange rate.... in other words if a 5 gallon can of slurm costs $50 in the US - it likely costs 50 Euro over here.... in this economy its JUST like spending $50 in the states. only to americans is it expensive because the dollar sucks ***.

500HP----i would like to see that. I have my doubts with the exhaust ports in this engine.
Fuel delivery system would also have to be reworked. Maybe they are going to do a E-85 engine?
Ceramic seals are so misunderstood--they are not the holy grail.
IF 500hp is obtained--they are going to run it on the oem drivetrain? Hope not.
watch with interest.

I originally said they're probably running crazy boost, hince why they pack in ceramic seals.
You say not according to Mazmart.
So I saw well ok, so they're not using high boost?
I origanally misunderstood your 1st reply. I thought you were talkin about the boost pressure, but you were talkin about the apex seals not being able to handle very high boost pressure.
So maybe Watanabe is mis-informed??
Maybe so, I guess theres a perception about Ceramic Seals. I had one. I thought they were very strong with boost. Guess I was wrong.
Well let me ask an off the topic question thats very vague, Are there any seals that can handle high boost?

3 mm seals in the renasis is a much different animal. Almost a science of its on since they redesigned the rotors.
Ceramic seals are stronger--but they are not detonation proof. Detonation on a 10/1 compression ratio renasis engine AND 20lbs of boost with the exhaust port limitations we have is almost certain imho. Now again imho maybe--just maybe they can get close using E-85.

I still have not come across the 500 whp dyno but I believe Chris. Plenty of speculation but MARCH 2010 feels even longer than it actually is from DECEMBER 2009. Very curious as to what WATANABE will bring to the Renesis.

Many dynamics are involved (I think I'll keep saying this whenever something is a little technical). The ceramics are SUPER STRONG but there's more than one type of strength. Iannetti seals have been used at over 35psi and lived. They also help to prevent detonation due to their ability to utilise higher spring pressures maintaining a proper seal under adverse conditions and high rpm.
I've seen ceramic seals break at 15psi and I've seen steel seals break at the same. There is a tendency for greater destruction by the ceramics than the steel.
Tuning is a VERY big deal with FI; Intake temps, ignition timing, octane, a/f ratios etc. I'd rather not sell any exotic and expensive seals to anyone who can't say that tuning is comfortably taken care of.
Paul.

This is an interesting thing.
Anyway i would like to know a bit more about your gt3071 kits considering the power outputs you prospect and the stock turbine's flowchart...
