AP midpipe taper off?
So im getting a custom catback done and am going full 3" from the header to the muffler, then inside the muffler splits to 2 2.5" for tips in stock location. The muffler being used is a cherry bomb vortex. Since it is not a chambered muffler, i am looking at either the shop fabbing a 3" midpipe with two resonators and using an allflow non catalytic converter ( http://www.siliconeintakes.com/produ...roducts_id=320 ) to pass the visual state inspection required in pa or buying a midpipe and adding the allflow? just looking for some input... But the question is, by looking at pics of the AP midpipe, it looks like it tapers off to a smaller diameter between the second resonator and rear flange. Is this correct? Is there anyone that would be able to mearsure this for me? Thanks!

Yes it does taper down both in the beginning and the end IMO to fit the stock header and rear section. I recently installed one, my setup was a custom 3" to stock muffler and let me tell you it sounded like ****! Do install some kind of resonator. Anyway what I did with my AP midpipe was cut the ends off and weld a 3" flange up front where it meets with the header and weld the rear section to my custom tubing.
