AP too loud

While I was on R&R in September I put the full AP exhaust on. Seemed like a good idea at the time but that night I learned what a bad idea it was with the long trip I took droning the whole way. I have got to get this thing quieted down. I am about to come back to the states sometime Extremely soon, and have been weighing options. The dual resonated mid has to go. I have found a midpipe from corksport that has a cat and a single resonator and was wondering if anyone had experience with it or an opinion as to whether it will substantially quiet me down. It sucks, I have to drive carefully to keep quiet and not draw too much attention, I dislike this. Thanks.

No doubt it is awesome, but long evening drives are terrible. And even worse, my wife complains constantly....we havent even made it back to the states yet and she nags.

I wouldn't think that a highflow cat would quiet you down much. My highflow cat increased my exhaust note considerably. I beleive the problem lies with the catback system. Prior to installing my highflow cat I was running the GReddy SE exhaust with my stock cat and it was only very slightly louder than stock. With the highflow cat she screams and shoots flames!

this all comes down to the type of highflow cat... some will be more consticting then others... the more constricting the less aggressive the note will be.

another aspect would be the flow of the exhaust.... the BHR midpipe "assists" the flow of the exhaust thus the exhaust note is controlled.

I run a borla with a BHR sr pipe and the note is much quieter than when I ran the AP dr pipe.

Yeah, it's just a matter of design and quality. AP=cheap generic resonators.

Nah she is alright, she insisted on helping me install my CAI, surprisingly she actually did. Wonder how she will do with the turbo install in a couple weeks. A true test of a woman, will she stick it out with you for the duration of upgrading your car.

Got the turbo waiting...however, I am afraid it is about to go back up for sale. I just found out I won a 2011 Mustang GT Convertable from AAFES. My wife is making me sell the 8 if I want to keep it....sucks man, i havent even cracked open my COBB yet and it is useless now..gay. Anyways I hate to jump ship on the Rx8 but things like this are rare and I have to soak it up. Great coming home gift though. I will miss the 8 a lot.

I have to take the AEM CAI off, exhaust back to stock, god knows what I am going to do with all of this stuff but it wont do anything for the value of the car. And my esmeril ignition can get comfy on the shelf where it has been waiting. Loud AP problem solved I suppose.
