Apexi Exhaust Control Valve??

Hi.
I have a centered single exhaust with 3" pipe and right now i have the stock cat on..
Soon i m installing my mazsport and i m going for a catless race pipe 3"..

The sound will be freakin loud so i was thinking of a fully controlled exhaust tone valve-just for cops and night hours in neighborhoods..

So.I checked with apexi but i dont know which on i dimensions and i dont know if there are any cons and also where do you install this thing in the race pipe or in the exhaust pipe???

http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_exh...=251&pageNum=1

Thanks in order

It would probably fit best at the bend area in the midepipe, you could make a turndown that went straight. and the rest of the exhaust that went left. But really though if you are going turbo you should just do wastegate to atmosphere.

The mazsport kit has a tial wastegate..So i have one.But will this throw down the sound?Cause with a single exhaust from the center without big turning in the tube and a full race pipe, damn its going to be hell

What size should i buy from apexi for my 3" tube? Also is there a possibility for this part to stuck? And is this part going to throw my performance???

That's actually a pretty good idea, I wonder how it would fair....

But if you look at the photo of the item, it looks to go in between the midpipe and exhaust. That's the spot where the exhaust is connected by 2 bolts. The midpipe-header spot is connected by 3.... Also, if I was you, you should go call Mazsport and tell them about your idea, go tell Scott. He should know the size you need.

well for a turbo'ed car you might have a problem. If it gets stuck you could manually pull the line, whats the price? And if you could actually change your cars sound I doubt you'll ever forget that you can do that....

Had one on my original 3" exhaust

it will kill the sound, but the backpressure kills any type of acceleration

had to almost keep it closed all the way to be effective

OH! nevermind, I thought this was something else.

Well dude, honestly I wouldn't worry about it, a catless car with a turbo on it is as quiet as a stock car even if it has a new catback.

This is what I thought that it was: http://www.jegs.com/p/Doug%27s+Heade...10002/-1/11529

I ended up getting rid of it and just added a dual pipe split with mufflers on the rear

The turbo will help, but catless it will still be loud, I'd recommend splitting the 3" into dual 2.25" pipes at the rear for turbo (2" for NA) with a pair of these instead

if yu want to stick with a single 3" then order the 3" ID x 6.25" OD model of this with the stainless scrubble packing option:
