Autoexe Mastervac Brace

Link
http://www.autoexe.co.jp/products/ma...l#Anchor-37527

Saw this in the RX-7 magazine this season

It basically saying
The basic anatomy of the brake system is to convert the force being applied to the pedal to the oil pressure in the master clinder, then this pressure transfer to force on the brake pads.
The master cylinder moves as during the pedal movement and hence reduces the effort that you make. They basically says the firewall of the car is rather weak for the purpose of braking (especially braking hard). By putting a brace in under the master cylinder and at the pivot point of the brake lever, it can reduces uncessary movement in that plane by 85% in the RX-8.

It does not recommend a DIY on this, so professional garage should be employed as (in the RX-7 magazine) quoted that it usually need to take out the master cylinder in order to install this.

I think this goes well with the brake pads, a grooved rotor, brake line and racing fluid. (cortc listenting ). It is only 25200 Yen, so it is about $300 Australian or about $250 US. Worth buying but it will be a pain putting it in. Since I will have to take the strut bar up, and to at least loosen the master cylinder.

When I have time and money, but I think it is a nice idea.

Too bad the brace has a "handedness" to it, and won't fit our US cars. We'd need mirror image copies of the underhood braces to fit ours Nice idea though for all those whose strut bars don't have brake braces (and this will fit on).

A mirror copy ... oh yes, exactly Good spotting. This have never crossed my mind hehe sorry

Yes, get a mirror copy ... it is not exactly copyright then. Autoexe should make one for LHD. I think it is a wonderful idea.

Spin9k, do you think it will have ANY additional function if I have that MazdaSpeed 4 point strut brace that has an extension to the master cylinder?

I guess anyone will be able to do it and I am asking if anyone have heard of the known benefit of this. Theoratically it is sound. I will not have any idea until I drive one with this install. It is simply because I have no idea what the "flex" there is in our cars currently. But by looking at the firewall of the car (behind the master cylinder), it is actually weak enough to warrant that thing.

It is half way down the thread!

And no one use the correct name of a mastervac brace... how do I suppose to search. Autoexe brace will get the strut and member brace 90% of the time!!!

This thread stays... since no one discuss the thread properly... because not a correct name been given to the parts.

Well at least someone search "properly" now, they will see that thread other than the other.

Well that show it is important to use proper name in the thread so people CAN SEARCH.

Okay, okay. Taka isn't a n00b, you don't have to drill him into the ground about searching because he already knows. It was an honest mistake...

Hard to tell, but from the pics they only show an outward flex toward the front of the car, so the strut bar w.brake stop would likely be equal or better as it has a stronger join to the chassis than these little pieces that are just screwed down, I would guess. But that backside brace has me wondering.... given what you need to do to install, one would guess it is very important....to something??? Maybe that's how it is better?

I've ordered the Autoexe strut braces and would love this too, but no LHD version. Please tell them for us takahashi , they could sell a bunch (like they do everything else) to us crazy Americans.

BTW, glad you educated us - we now have a cool new vocab phrase "mastervac brace". Thank you! I want my mastervac brace!!

I thought this thread was located in the "aftermarket performance and mazdaspeed" forum. I don't think this forum off limits to us peeps in the US, but let me know if I am wrong.
The link was in the photo/multimedia one. But honestly I have look at the site for that particular brace as the main theme of the thread before I wrote this one. I have seen the product for a month (since I have my RX-7 magazine this month), but had not had a chance to write it up.

Yeah I remember your question, but I did give you an answer out of my heart right???

Love to ask for you. The last time I did that they never write back. Genenerally they never like to give us good products. You see how many good Jap cars go overseas and all the Japanese mobile phones are 10 times more advance than Sony Ericssons and Motorolas. They have colour monitor back in the 90s and their phone can nearly fly

Silly part, how about I make a brace from the master cld to the tower bolts? A bunch easier to install and a bunch cheaper. It could be used with strut braces or not.

Good idea Richard. An adjustable length rod with sealed bearing eye-ends and locknuts would be perfect as a master cylinder brace.

Well not that simple Gomez. I think a bent bracket that picks up both master cld bolts. That transends into a threaded rod to meet up with a turnbuckle to a rod end attacjhed to a strut bolt. You could then preload the firewall flex. An aftermarket strut barace would have to be designed to share that one stud.
But thats OK because I'm looking at that part also.

So you think there will be equal benefit as something like this?

That is my 4 point strut bar... so it is a waste of my brain cell thinking of this Autoexe mastervac brace, right ?

Well i am ordering mine next month together with complete bodykit...
Now i am waiting canzoomer midp-4 and rb revi ...

Well ms strut bar us-spec has brake sylinder support..The brake is stronger and the way under the brake pedal is lower...The thing that i am considering now is if the autoexe makes the way till the lower place the brake pedal can go,very small..So with a little press the car ***** down..It will definately needs to be learned in the first week etc...

I willpost when i get it...Excelent part tho...

Yes it is a 4 point MazdaSpeed strut bar for the Right hand drive cars.

I think about it and see the benefit of having a mastervac brace on top of the 4 point strut bar is a bit over the top.

My money went to the suspension instead

the mastervac brace is a fantastic addition to ur braking system.

***** to those who said it is useless. Y condemn the item when u havent try or use them??? The 4 pieces of metal are there for a reason and autoexe dun make anything that is redundant....
