Well after getting over Strep, I finally got around to installing my RP AxialFlow Short Shifter. I must say to the handful of people that had issues... I am so sorry for you. The installation was a breeze and was completed in less than 30 minutes with me taking my time to enjoy the labor of it all. The install was cake and the RP SS was married up to the gearbox perfectly... No later adjustments where required. 1st through 6th drops in perfectly and reverse is a charm as well. As far as performance enhancement... unbelievable! Side by side the OEM and RP have very little that is visually different, but in functionality and form they are worlds apart. The throw is half the distance and feels like butter. In shift performance alone you gain 15+WHP . Very hard to mis-shift or grind a gear. A must have upgrade for any MT driver that wants a full-bodied driving experience.

Install would have taken no more than 15-20 min aside from the fact that I lost one of the nuts for the rubber under-boot thing thing to the EVIL ****** E-BRAKE WELL ... so now I'm riding w/ 3 of 4. Its not going ot be a problem but I speant a good 30 minutes trying to get it out. I do not think they are magnetic but I'm going to try and will also try some gum or adhesive tape or something to get it back tomorrow. I can see it but there is is no way for me to get to it myself.
Shifter = butter, the new sound is great ... only thing is, if you are moving its pretty much impossible to get it into 1st unless you are going dead slow. Not really a problem b/c thats the only time you want to be in first anyway unless you are the type of cat to shift into gear a million feet before you need to be there and ride w/ the clutch in.
Great product, great service, and top notch machining on this piece. Thanks for giving us something we cant find anywhere else RP.

I didn't give you a hard time over it, I just was shocked that you tried it.

Secondly, in the above quote, is there just two steps to your process. Unscrew the shift **** and yank evenly on the leather boot til it pops off? At that point, pick up from Gomez's DIY with the screws and so on? Thanks in advance for your help.

I sent you the white sleeve and it came back. I sent another one and don't know where it went. PM me with a good address and I'll send another.
Yanking the boot off should take only the front four loose then you work the back two out ez enough. The install is so simple that once the boot is off everything is self explanitory. Gomez DIY is a luxury from there.
In fact after him witholding the part lettering secret from me until just now I may stop his monthly check. I just don't want to punish his wife and kids for his failures. I think they are trying to get him to build them a new house.

Installed yesterday. 5th-6th is by far the best difference. 1-2 & 3-4 are fine but I don't really notice a huge difference. All in all it's nice.
***The yanking up on the shift boot to get the center piece off is a must!!*** I barely gave it a good yank the whole piece came up with NO broken clips!! I unclipped the heated seats and I was underway.
You are right about the plastic clips that hold the top rubber boot, they are a pain to get off. I used a flat head to wiggle the clips away from the screw then simply used pressure to pop it off from the bottom. That was the only hiccup in the process. Thanks Gomez for the pictorial.
The tranny noise is minimal and I do have the rubber boot pushed down as far as it could go on the white ring aswell as pulling out the green insulation. If anyone comes out with a total silencer please share but as for now I think that it can be tolerated.

I agree 4-5-6 is freakin orgasmic ... you can just grab it underhanded and slam it right into 5th which was a PIA with the stock shifter. Seems like I'm loving this thing more and more every day !! thanks again guys
And for whoever wanted to know the GB price is no longer available.
You have to purchase the shifter from the site at full price - WELL WORTH IT !

I broke my clip the second time I pulled the shift boot piece off. I had lost that nut for the rubber boot to the e-brake well and got it back, but I also broke my clip.
It doesnt appear to make any difference though oh well

I think something is wrong with mine, 5th gear used to just be a light shove on the shifter up and a *little* bit to the right, it was beautiful, now it seems like unless I slide it into neutral and then to the right quite a bit and then up, I will end up in 3rd gear, which aside from the damage to my clutch, is embarassing.
