I can't think of anything that could cause this. Keep paying attention to it and let me know if it changes anymore.

just installed mine tonight, that was alot easier than I expected. Even the great DIY I read made it sound hared than it waactually was.

The shifting is very tight and quick, I noticed that most of the improvment is in the "side to side" movement as opposed to up and down.

I don't have any issues like you're describing with mine. The nature of a short shifter is to make it tighter, though, so maybe that's all you're experiencing and overexaggerating a little? It's still a clear/smooth shot into 5th for me.

Since the '06 Miata uses the Rx8 platform does it use the Rx8 transmision?
'Cause if it does then I have a new market. Anyone know this?

Nope, but I'm sure there would be tons of California Miata owners that would be more than willing to be a test mule if you cut them a deal.

Hey Richard I installed the SS this weekend and it is a dream! Feels much more solid than the stock and it is much easier to shift! Good work.

I agree 100%. Does anyone have any answers as to why this cost about 3 or 4 times as much as normal short throw shift kits?

if you are referring to the MS one, it is much more money almost $400. you may doubt the price when you buy it but once you receive it and install it you will realize you made a great investment. just like the one guy said, you pay to play. but i do think that the price on this is very reasonable.

EDIT: Also this shifter is warrantied for the life of your car as long as you are the original owner.

i went by richards shop last week to pick up a short shifter and he was nice enough to even install it for me. its only been a week and i have to say, out of the performence mods ive made so far( intake, exaust, springs) this is my favorite. i dont think any one mod could change the driving experience of the 8 for the better then this shifter. well done

I hope the mad inventor used the DIY guide to install it for you. You wouldn't want him let loose on your car without guidance of some sort.......

I feel sorry for you.

As for the small issue I was having before, everything seems to be 100% now, and I am enjoying the SS more than ever. Thanks again Richard.
