Best airintake?

Best airintake?
Ok, so Iīm a bit lazy... What are, from your own experience) the best airintake for my 8? For increasing hp that is... I donīt care so much about the sweet sound and I know I canīt expect big gains...

I would have to disagree. The RE intake is by far superior to the stock intake as is SR's and the new Rotary Extreme intake. You just have to face the fact that the RX-8 isn't succeptable to bolt-on's that great regarding HP.

Here are soundclips, and pictures of the Borla and CTDīs Cat Backs Exhaust. Maybe a repost but if someone missed them before...
CTD Cat Back Exhaust I

Why do you say the stock is better?

by what measure (except decibles) are those you mentioned superior to the stock?

The SR intake has the sexiest sound, IMO. Either that or no one with good recording equipment has recorded the RE, which sounded a tad ricey to my ears. The SR sounded like it resonated at a lower frequency, which wouldn't be surprising given it's big size. At higher RPM's it had a nice sport bike sort of sound.
In terms of power, none of them are going to deliver big gains.

i was just at the racing beat website. it looks to me like they are trying real hard to get the most power out the the b13 without making the driver go deaf. also i saw the K&N typhoon installed and i am not impressed with the prices for a few inches of pipe and a filter sucking air from the hot engine bay. no wonder it can't get above 10 hp! i think 310guy was right about stock being better just because what the aftermarket is Not capable of doing. and charging your first born for it! i have yet to see the RE set up so i can't really comment on that. if i am not mistaken, they claim about the same increase as K&N.

and they claim it can gain about 5hp and 0.5kgf/m torque.. just wondering...

That last picture is false becuase air doesn't shoot directly towards the intake. In fact, there is no air flow to the intake. It is just sucking up dead air in a confined area between the bumper & frame.
Zoom: I base that on the fact that I had both the K/N and the Rotary Extreme intake on and I noticed an increase in HP with the RE, and with k/n I noticed a significant loss in hp and tq. RE and RB's intakes increase whp; not by much, but they DO increase whp. I just got a M3 2 weeks ago and the intake only makes 7-9 whp and it is $1,100! So $300 for 3 whp is not a bad deal

IMHO:
Do you want sound? Get any aftermarket intake.
Want the best "improvement"? Stay with stock.
Here's my story:
0-2000 miles = factory intake
2000-7000 miles = K&N intake
7000 - currently (about 7400) = factory intake
Without a doubt my car responds so much better with the factory intake.
All this crap about ANY hp gain is at or near redline. (Go ahead, look at the "dynos.")
Do you drive at redline all the time? No, so save your money if you want an intake to "increase" hp. Only get an intake if you want the sound (and possibly lose low end torque and throttle response like me).
I've seen both sides of the coin.
End of my story...

I will give you credit in one aspect, I do like the cold air ducting from the front of your car. I don't like the material you used to do it though.
