since your avatar is a turbo, im guessing youre not completely stupid, so ill answer your question you rogue.

if you want to stay legal, get a high flow cat either RP or SR motorsports. they keep the cel from showing and it also adds a few hp. sound is increases noticably.

rp is about 400 i think
sr is 400+ i think.

if you dont want to stay legal and have a cel on permanently get a straight midpipe. lots of vendors sell em but its just a straight pipe to me.. it add more hp i think then the high flow and its loud like a mother f*. most people put a resonator on their midpipe to make the noise a little more tolerable but id rather just stay with the high flow.

only thing with the rp supercat is that they seem to die after 10,000 miles. so you pay $400 to stay legal and no cel but its dead in a short period. i had the supercat on my first rx8 and i can say that it definitely increases hp and keeps off the cel but it is pretty loud.

thats only a few people. and they had there's replaced at RP with good customer service. its not as loud as a midpipe would be. plus you can add a resonator to that if you wanted.

ive had mine on for 20k and its still on. running strong except it had the gold look which most of the aging pipes have on our rides.

sorry about that i didnt realize that they were replacing them. i guess with my setup it was just to much. K&N intake, greddy sp2 and the supercat.

Since this thread is sort of dead I am going to jack it. I know I probably bought the wrong car since I am worrying about emissions but, what will a midpipe do versus a supercat regarding emissions? Anyone have a sound clip of the RB exhaust with either rp supercat or rb straight pipe? Also, RB said that their pipe would only add about 6-8 hp and I am hearing things saying the supercat adds just as much without the CEL.

For a few weeks I am just using the OEM cat with bits and peices of the resonator taken out, but it is still breaking off and clogging it up so i went ahead and ordered a high flow, that's for the help though

This is an ideal cat and it will not cause a CEL
