Best "short ram" air intake??

Performance wise which air intake would be the best choice?? I was considering AEMs. Would there be a better choice?

short ram intakes such as the K&N are not very effective on our cars.
What you want is a Cold Air intake: AEM or the Racing Beat with Duct

As others have cited 'best short ram intake" is an oxymoron, as there really isn't any.

If you must go short ram get a K&N Tyhoon2 (there are some pre-owned for sale here).

Best to get a true cold air intake like the AEM, Mazdaspeed or Racing Beat (the latter has a duct bringing outside air to the box which contains a cone filter).

Or do as I and many others have done. Get just the RB Ram duct and mate it to the stock airbox with a K&N flat filter. $185 for new parts.

Not much performance-wise to be gained by an aftermarket intake, so mostly an ear of the beholder decision.

go to srmotorsports.com the intake for the 8 that they have destroys all others its actually a "ram air cold air intake i have one and it screams and works a lot better than an aem or mishimoto those both suck in mostly warm air from the engine bay

What data/proof do you have that supports this?
And how does the AEM "suck in warm air from the engine bay"?

inspir3- Listen to what others have already mentioned above.

I can go to some websites and find "claims" of 15HP gains... but some of us here know better from personal experience.
Most of the claims manufactures post on their site is completely wrong and is only geared towards drawing "uneducated" people into buying their products.

and is a true Ram-Air Cold Air Intake, **receiving pressurized air into a fully sealed air box from outside of the super heated engine compartment. (Most intake systems are just a cone filter and pipe which grab hot air from around the radiator and the engine , which is why they don't have the same good Horsepower increase that our kit does.) Our system is quiet too! No loud funky intake noise. All Metal Construction. No Cheap Looking Plastic !

I give up on this guy...
Next he'll start telling us to only use 5w20 and that O2 simulators work great for the RX8.

Hmmm. I'm not criticizing just making an observation. So the SRmotorsports intake slips a cone filter into a cylinder that sits where the stock airbox was and it has a piece that fits into the opening in the front of the engine bay. So it has no ducting like the RB or a filter that sits in the opening behind the grill. OK. I really never looked at before. Now I know.

Why don't you get a Racing Beat duct and put it on the SR intake.
