Its not that its really "that good", no aftermarket intake is "that good".
Most will produce a louder sound (especially if the VFAD and resonance chamber is removed) and too many people presume this as making their cars faster.
Some have proven to reduce HP, even though their site claims "huge" gains.
Only time an intake is going to help produce noticeable gains is when its combined with a midpipe and tuned (like with an AccessPort).

I've had the AEM and currently have the Racing Beat with duct.
Both were fine, but didn't give me noticeable gains, only noise.

Thanks for taking the harsh criticism and not flipping out like some people do.
Proves to me that you'll do fine here on this forum.

LOL... hey, if people want to get it purely for the "bling" factor, I have no problem with it then.

Agree about the pulleys. No gain and a lot of money. Most people I know that bought them ended up selling them. But if you want bling. They are that.

Yes, please get the Weapon-R Dragon Intake, you will not be disappointed. In fact, I am using it on my car along with the electric-turbonator. I dyno'd it today and I got 343whp from just the two of them. All I need now are those chips from ebay and I'll be hitting the 500whp mark.

If you understood how the radiator worked, and how the radiator fans are positioned, you'd know that the air flows towards the rear of the car. The only time this might not be the case is if you're backing up.

With that said, the AEM CAI is located in front of the radiator, so hot air from the radiator isn't an issue. You can monitor your air intake temps using an accessport or scanguage2 to verify.

Anyone who is even slightly worried about hot air, won't be looking at short intakes that sit inside the engine bay. Especially if you remove any of the undertrays.

Im running the RacingBeat intake with the air duct....and the only difference that i feel..or matter a fact i hear ...is that the RacingBeat intake is just a bit more louder and Raspy than the stock...yes is does pull in more cool air and keeps it a bit cooler......but i dont think there is any significant gains with this product...just an upgraded version of the cone inside of the stock airbox... other than that....i think its a pretty good product for the rx-8.....

^ I do have the product and agree with that statement. It definetely has a slight change in engine pull, more noticeable is the added throttle response.

A tune via MM - Access Port would really accentuate the gains of the intake, and any supporting mod.
