Have you checked your motor mounts?

Suggest you start a new thread in the problems and issue section for help.

Apparantly it could be a problem with the throttle body.

Mine doesn't drop too far in RPM. The idle just becomes very erratic, but I'm going to check this as well.

My car has been down since the Superbowl due to a bad coil/s. I started it a few times to keep it from sitting but havent driven it. I got my BHR coils/plugs in today and the install was cake. I read the instructions a couple of times but considering I have never installed plug or thought of taking out my coils I finfished in about 1 hour. No impression though as my battery is dead and I sold my catless midpipe today and couldnt get the stock cat back on. That will happen monday as I have to work this weekend. Hopefully Monday I can join the crowd and actually use the coils.

Due to **** poor planning on my part, for which I and I alone am responsible, it was about 2 and a half months after the BHR coils were installed that I finally got fresh new NGK plugs in (OEM items). Bear in mind that the old plugs have over 45K miles on them and were the originals that were on the car when I took delivery of the car back in October of 2004. The old plugs, especially both leading plugs, were covered in a hard, crusty gunk to the point where it amazed me that any coils could push enough juice to actually generate a spark with them. This moment of realisation really brought home just how great a product the BHR coils are!!! After I installed the new plugs and got the car back on all fours, I was startled by how much smoother the idle was than it had ever been before. Bear in mind that the RX-8 is my fourth car with a Mazda rotary and I've always been impressed with how much smoother the idle is than in any of other three; but this smoothness was surreal. Once I rolled the windows up, I had to triple check the tach to ensure that the engine was still running because the engine was so smooth and mellow that I could not hear it run with the windows up. Driving the car home, I was very pleased with how smooth the engine was and indeed even stealthy it was. It was more like driving a Bentley or a Rolls. I look forward to seeing if there are any other observable benefits; but my impressions of the BHR coil kit are all strictly favourable! My compliments, Gentlemen!

Soooo ... I installed my kit at friday and drove about 130km since them.

So my (short) review :

Car: 2007-Model, 6-port, MT, K&N drop in + high flow cat + sebring exhaust, stock engine with stock ecu.

Location : Austria, near Vienna (you know Mozartkugel *gg* )

Installation : I removed the intake and the intake hose to have more room. I don't want to remove the throttle body because I'm not sure if i get it back in the right place. But this makes it a little bit tricky, to connect the T2 coil. Also the 3rd and 4rd screw wasn't able to reach, so i could only fix the mounting plate at screw 1 and 2. But that will be enough i think . I think the kit won't fell of during driving ^^
I get a CEL after installation, but this was caused by a disconnected MAF-sensor. After the installation i made a starting check without he MAF connected. In the meantime, the CEL vanished and everything was fine

Starting: The engine crancks only 1 or 2 times and then its up. Ilde runs smooth and rock solid. Idle was before the install fine too but sometimes i realized slight irritations. These are not there any more.

Driving: Car runs better than before think. The last 2-3 month, it feels like the car is driving with a slight tighten handbrake. Now, this handbrake is loosen up
Throttle response was great, even at low rpm (which is good at city driving)

Mileage: last trip with 375 km requires 11,8l / 100km (44,25l for 375 km) which are nearly 20 miles per gallon. This includes faster drivng at highways, (250 km), regular driving at country roads (70 km) , 1 hour 'driving' (better : parking) within a traffic jam (20km) and a shopping trip in the city (30 km).
So my mileage is good i think next tank will bring it up to light, how much the new coils improve.

Support : also great thanks to charles for his support and the perfect shipping and payment.

br,
Edi

Doesn't matter - both runs were same day back to back - only change was the tune.

I was running Kanes dwell settings for about a week now and the car felt real good at WOT! also my gas mileage increased by a noticeably great amount. I used to get only 200 miles at most a tank, but I already went through 2 tanks of gas and both getting 240 miles. All I have to say is thanks to Kane for all his hard work!!

Always the pessimist.

PS - The coils Rock; I just took better aim at 'em!

I'll be a round of Mai-Tais on it.... but you gotta come to HI to cash in
