Clearly having parts and rags piled on it is better than sitting in the grass briefly. ;)

Oh, that is one of the old ones. The new ones are WAY better, all around. We screwed the pooch on the first versions, which is another reason why The Magnificent Seven Are getting new 'pipes whether they want them or not. ;)

yeah it's the original.

is the material changed too? i think you said you went to a thicker metal but were they not stainless and now they are?

Vlaze 09-01-2010 09:36 PM

304 while better resistant contrast to mild & tool steel still can corrode/pit/rust depending on the interacting electrolytes & metal if someone kept it near such per say something like chlorine which removes the protective layer :)

That or a vendor did a poor job on the passivation/pickling process

1) Cavemancan
2) Police34
3) Kuzz10(?).
4) 9KRPMRX8
5) RX8Pwnage
6) PDXHAK
7) NautyOne
8) AZLizard

The next wave includes those who purchased the first version and they will surely enjoy the new version. Plus, Phil needs a totally unique version and his will be included in this next batch.

All in time for SevenStock. The best sounding RX-8s will be wearing the BHR Midipipe. I guarantee it. My ported, 10K rpm redline-having, DaveSport-catted, BEAST will be there for all to hear.

Holly pipe laying! :naughty::naughty:

I swear I have not been trolling at least once or twice a day in the small chance I would catch a post like this!

My wife's not pleased of course.

Nobody else finds this comment amusing? :dunno:

RIWWP 09-02-2010 07:24 AM

I did :)

BRODA 09-02-2010 07:31 AM

You know, when I first read that, I thought you were implying that you made "sweet sweet love" to your wife... and she was not pleased with how that went.

But now, upong further reflection... I believe you may be insinuating that you made "sweet sweet love" to you midpipe.

RIWWP 09-02-2010 07:40 AM

I'm not sure if that is a compliment or not :dunno:

BRODA 09-02-2010 07:41 AM

lol... I'm not sure. I don't know the scale of the picture?

RIWWP 09-02-2010 07:44 AM

I didn't measure. I'm not the measuring type.

Ray tells me it's a perfect fit though. So....

cavemancan 09-02-2010 09:38 AM

Wow...I start off with Pipe laying and now we're gettin reach a rounds. :grouphug:

:suspect:

Zelse 09-02-2010 11:49 AM

Bah, enough of that! Back to the future of BHR's exhaust system! Big ups to RIWWP and his wife for recording this and all. My first and only video of me racing outside with the exhaust. :D

TheWulf 09-02-2010 12:47 PM

How true is the sound in the video compared to what you hear in real life?

Very unique sound that's for sure. It doesn't sound as if it should be coming from an RX-8 though

RIWWP 09-02-2010 12:50 PM

It sounds the same to me.

But I'm tone deaf, so you might want to lug around that block of salt :)

Zelse 09-02-2010 01:17 PM

lol sounds the same to me as well. What does it sound like to you wulf?

cavemancan 09-02-2010 04:08 PM

Oh Happ Days!

"Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 09/09/2010" :tear:

This is awsome...

Stock Cat & Midpipe - 23.2lbs
Weight of shipped midpipe with packaging - 15.50 Lbs

Savings of 8 + lbs...Very nice!

RIWWP 09-02-2010 07:56 PM

I have to apologize to expectant parents other customers. I did not install the pipe today. I actually got the stock cat off to the rubber hanger before I realized that in all my excitement, I completely forgot that I have to have my 8 reinspected within 10 days of re-registration...which was yesterday. And I think it's a sniffer test. But not sure.

So the right thing to do was to bolt my cat back up, and ill take it in for inspection tomorrow (supposed to rain anyway), and do the installation saturday with 10-15 degree cooler temps anyway.

What does that mean? What should it be coming from?

Also for reference what cat-back are you using?
