DAMN i need money. 9K and pwnage the sound clips sound good even for cell phone recording.

9k, how much louder do you think it is over the stock midpipe. I know it's been i while since you've had it though. I have the HKS only and don't want to go too much louder. My neighbors still like me.

Wait, I watched again and they crawl by at 00:28, 00:38, and 00:45.

BTW, one thing I am noticing in all these vids is the presence of strong low frequency content, a nice, warm, rumble. That was our goal.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

I had to watch the vid again to see what you were talking about.

Ants: WTF is that! Its loud and breaths fire!

Honestly I never had the HKS with the stock cat but I can say that the BHR pipe with the HKS is quieter than the HKS with the RP Supercat. It will probably be a bit louder than the stock pipe since it has a cat and a resonator.

We are going on a Canyon run today, I will try and get more audio.

9krpmrx8 09-11-2010 11:56 AM

Oh and one more thing, When I installed the RX7store pipe I found that it pushed the tip of my HKS close to the shroud causing it to melt. I have never had that problem when the SR pipe was on either.

The BHR pipe was a bit shorter (probably the exact length of the stock cat pipe) than the RX7 store pipe and the SR pipe and so it puts the tip exactly where it belongs :) Now I can put my replacement shroud on :)

laythor 09-11-2010 12:08 PM

maybe 9krpm can change it to "the BHR was stock length so blah..blah..blah" then ray can delete his post and ray's inbox, email address and cell phone wont get such a beating

I can hear follow-up questions from readers already;

"You mean the BHR Midpipe is shorter than the OEM midpipe?"
"Do you mean the BHR Midpipe is shorter than the RX7Store midpipe?"
"Why would there be differences in the lengths of midpipes?"

Fixed :)

Maybe I will start that thread telling the entire story about how the BHR Midpipe came to be and the behind-the-scenes drama that unfolded during the 14 month process? :dunno:

That should be fascinating, Charles. I think that's about the same period of time it took Lockheed to deliver a protoype SR71 after the initial design. Of course, they did have to source most of the titanium used to build the plans from the USSR. Where did we get the titanium used in our midpipes? :D:

RIWWP 09-11-2010 07:24 PM

He posted said story on BHR, per his link about 5+ hours before you posted that it would be interesting to read :)

But it certainly is an interesting read. Glad to hear the small guy is getting the business instead of the big guy, especially as it is design.

Brettus 09-11-2010 07:33 PM

quick question .
how long is the BHR midpipe ?

Easy_E1 09-11-2010 07:35 PM

Good question.

Long enough. :rollingla

Brettus 09-11-2010 07:36 PM

took me a while to think that one up :)

Easy_E1 09-11-2010 07:44 PM

As far as I know it's with in a couple mm's of the stock cat.

How big is a couple?

Ok when I get a chance, I'll measure both and post the results. Maybe.

RX8pwnage 09-12-2010 07:23 PM

I might be coming into possession of an R-Magic tuned catback for S2. Im having Yuki at japanparts see what he can hook me up with. The R-magic sounds amazing on its own, but with a BHR pipe on it I can only imagine the sweetness coming out those pipes. Im already smiling! haha

That's NOT what she said!

I took two people for a demo run of the pipe yesterday. One is one of the MA guys well known to you BHR people :) The other is his GF. She was sold right away. Got out of my 8 after we got back and said, "ok, now I know what I need to replace my high flow cat with." Wish I had taped it, since it was along tightly wooded roads, so plenty of sound reflection, and my 8 was obliging with single and double backfires on every shift :ylsuper: (doesn't usually, I have to really try)

RX8pwnage 09-13-2010 04:00 PM

Here's a high quality sampling of BHR goodness (lot of background noise was windy):

Easy_E1 09-13-2010 04:17 PM

Thanks for the comments and videos people. We do appreciate them. ;)

So I measured stock Cat pipe and our midpipe.

They are the exact same length. :fingersx:
