Recieved my Midpipe today.... the box looked like it went through a 3rd world country on foot when I picked it up and one of the bolt/ lock washer/ nut combo's was missing; assuming it fell out from one of the numerous holes that were in the box. Other than that the pipe looks to be in good shape.... I will fit it on later tonight after I pick up a new bolt and some washers.

Charles,

Perhaps placing the gasgets and bolts in a ziplock back and taping them directly onto the pipe would help prevent the missing hardware? Just trying to help...I know your going through alot with the shipping company shenanigans (second use of the word in one day...wooooooo ).

Later,

Chris

Personally I can not complain in the least...With such a great product and service.

I guess it depends on the customer. If I were to do this again, and I would, I would be perfectly fine with paying what I paid or a little more.

The question is it worth it to you to adjust the pricing to reduce the headache?

EDIT:

P.S. To all those that helped me with my CAT issue. I was able to locate a used CAT with 23k miles on it for $175. I should be able to use this to bring the car to Mazda. Thanks again gentlemen!

You think people will pay $500 for a catless midpipe?
Yeah, the ziploc bag... or what was left of the bag, was totally annihilated yet still taped to the pipe like a flag of surrender.

Not really complaining... Haven't gotten around to installing the pipe yet and as long as everything fits I won't have any complaints. I found the bolt, washer, lock washer and nut all for a grand total of...... $1.37 at Canadian Tire. Just curious Charles; have you guys tried threading the bolts with the springs onto the pipe and putting the bolts through the triangle side and threading the nut on hand tight to keep them in place; my gaskets were still in the ziploc bag when I opened it.

Misery loves company; my box looked even worse than yours and all the gaskets and hardware were gone. I'll just come out and say it, the quality of package handling by UPS has gone to hell in the last year. I'm thinking Kevlar or one of those mil-surp boxes used to ship missiles might stand a chance of coming through unscathed.

i have used this on 4 turbo scion tc we have built and my 8 and no p0420 have appeared, give it a shot the most your out is a couple of bucks.

This sounds like a good idea! Have already ordered my coils, pump and etc. Last is the mid-pipe on my list! Anything to keep the darn light off!

The midpipe arrived in about 3 days. Literally from the time of order, the pipe made it all they way to north eastern Kentucky from Arizona. (Might I add, from a particular town voted most boring city in America and also home to Ice T)

The box was obliterated. Literally torn apart. I have no idea how all the hardware was still in the box but it was and relatively unscathed.

The install went rather well. Just knowing when and where to push and pull is the majority of the battle...

*Having a friend to help you tug on your old pipe, as well as insert your new one is very helpful.* -That's just for you Erick.

... First impressions

The welds are insane. A lot of effort was put into making sure the pipe was put together as close to flawless as possible and it shows.

The pipe smoked quite a bit and sounded rather raspy at first. Having everything heat up and fit into place takes a bit at first, but mates perfectly after you've spent a day or two with it. Then every time you give it the business, its all rumble and no rasp. The pipe is everything they said it would be.

Brb, getting more Wankelberry Kool aid...

I smell fuel. Often. Especially at start ups and drive-thrus. Obviously expected. It reminds me of when I was a kid, and is a welcomed flashback. If you visit Burger King in Ashland, Critter (The lady in the drive through with literally 3 jagged teeth) will complain about your exhaust fumes. It's your civic duty to tell her to **** off and request that she mind her own business.

The throttle seems a lot lighter and a lot less restricted (imagine that). A lot more responsive as well.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the midpipe. It's exactly as they said it would be, and the sound is exhilarating.

It's a bit worrying that my box also has to cross a big ocean, maybe all I'll get is a piece of cardboard :P

lol, add that to my wish list too!

I am at 35k and within factory warranty now, taking it in for an awful rattle in the exhaust. Wonder if this is the cat making all the noise. If they replace it then I will cherish that "new" unit and hopefully place my order soon!!!

No fitment issues with my midpipe; the hanger is quite close to the frame though and if I find that it starts to clunk on some larger bumps I will have to remove it and bend the hanger a bit. Took me about 20 minutes to install on my own (had cat removed already for turbo install), re-used the stock springs on the rear flange with my GReddy SE Catback, not sure if it was completely necessary though.

I'll post up a vid as soon as my car is in running condition again.

having worked at ups i know the crazy abuse the packages go through :[ even before they get in the hands of a loader, conveyor belts jams then the boxes are loaded tetris style onto a trailer not like other freight that is secured on pallets. then if its bulk items the have their own trailer but everything is just thrown in there because of rushing and lack of care.
