boost gauges

i have been doing searches but couldnt find if they are actually needed i know in the new cx-7 there isnt 1 and i know the reason for them.

the reason i dont want to go with 1 is theres a new law in california just started a few months where a cop can pull you over and upon his discretion give you a ticket and possibly tow your car if he feels its for street racing. if/when i decide to go FI i want the stock look so i cant really be messed with =D.

this new law gives them the right to pull you over for any reason at all whether its having rims, gauges, body kit, etc. and blows

WTF, I dont believe that "law" for a second. Thats almost every sports car. People street race stock z06's, stock mustangs etc. What the hell kind of a law is that.
BTW, I'm not flaming you, just the "law"

Cops pull us imports over like its a sport. I got pulled over, but the cop didn't realize I had a turbo on the car at the time, he just thought I had a modified intake and exhaust.

That has got to be the most bogus stuff I have ever heard, are you kidding me for real! They actually have a law like that. I am so glad I don't live in california, that law sucks. So what that says is that you don't have the right to personalize your own car, damn I thought we lived in america. I know lots of people that just like the fast and furious look and don't have a single engine mod.

and yet I have never seen a Corvette with it's front license plates EVER. Also, I can hear a Harley late at night from 2 miles away because they have pimped out the exhuast, yet the cops never bust them.

I think its mostly because imports get the bad rep about being street racers, even though there are a bunch of american muscle cars out there doing the same thing. I guess its just easy prey.

You can mount the boost gauge in your ash tray like I did, it took me about 30 minutes to drill out the hole and mount the gauge where the cig. lighter was, and another 30 minutes to connect the 12v & ground cable, and route the line to the intake manifold. You can close the lid and he wouldn't even know it's there.

That was up until a couple days ago when I replaced the boost gauge with my AEM UEGO afr gauge which is a little bigger. The lid doesn't close, but it sure as hell is worth it.

$1500 doesn't sound legit. I'd contact the user, or see if there is a minimum bid on it.
