Borla 140078 vs 1014015
Hi all,
I've had the sad news today that apparently Borla no longer make the S-Type catback system (SKU 140078) and now only do the homologated EC-Approved version (SKU 1014015) that is supposedly quieter to comply with stricter noise and emission regulations, as well as being more expensive as a result!
Borla S-Type (140078)
Borla EC-Approved (1014015)
I'm finding it hard to find any meaningful comparison between the two... Is there anyone here who might be able to shed some light? I've done some searching so far with no luck. I've had a Borla on 2 previous '8s and I love the sound - I'd hate for this newer version to be too muted/quiet in comparison.
Thanks in advance !

probably more expensive because the cost of stainless steel is up about 100% since this time last year, at a record high right now.
otherwise I doubt there will be anyone who ever owned both to provide you with any legit answer.

I wasn't aware of the increase in the cost of stainless so that certainly does make sense. I'm sure there's also additonal materials used internally for some noise reduction which would also increase cost and thus RRP.
You're probably right, I think this is rather a niche question. Thank you for the response though!
