borla vs greddy
Ok, so i've done tons of searches, heard multiple sound bites of both exhausts, but to me the borla sounds more rich/deep. However, reading the posts, it seems as though everyone says that the greddy is louder. I haven't heard either in real life, only through sound bites, so is my assesment right that the Borla is in fact the deeper sounding system??

my thoughts?? well, everything that i've read about the exhausts are that they provide minimal gains from the stock system. seems as though the RB system is the most subdued system out there next to mazdaspeed. i def dont want a ricey sound, but i do want something rich and thick.

everything that i've read in this forum about the whole RB philosophy in all there products is that they make quality products and but aren't flashy, eg. no so loud exhausts. i'm not getting a new exhaust merely for peformance gains as they are very minimal, i'm doing 1/2 also for cosmetic reasons (sound and look)

I have the GReddy and I love it. Not loud and obnoxious at all, deep and throaty. It has a bigger [tip]*edited* than I'd like, and I heard you'll have a hard time fitting the Mazdaspeed rear diffuser. Something to consider about if that's the route you're going.
Espelir is nice too, but I think it may be more expensive than both setups.

I don't know much about the borla but i can say that the Greddy offers a nice tone that you don't need to worry about droning and giving you a headache even when going down a highway or freeway with the windows down. Also most of the people that have heard it say they like the sound and have decided to go with Greddy exhausts for thier cars (other then RX-8s).

Does anybody else find the idea of a deep and throaty sound mated with a high revving rotary a little...mismatched? I've always envisioned the ideal sound for a rotary being more of a screaming higher pitched rip, similar to what you get in a race bike or Ferrari. I think the deep and throaty sound would match better with something that had a V8 in it...but that's just me. I always give a queer eye to riced Civics that have deep sounding exhausts for this very reason.

lol....just playing...
Anyway, I've heard the Borla (while I understand vertigo's point) and I really like it. Also, considering some people are spending over 1K for exhuast that does not help performance too much...I'll stick with the cheaper-lighter alternatives that do not drive me crazy while driving around town or on the highway. :D

I've never heard the Borla in person so I cant make a good judgement. I've had the GReddy for awhile and it's never been annoying. You barely even know it's there until you punch the gas. Very deep low-end exhaust.
