BOV but no turbo?

to have blow off valve do you need a turbocharged engine to have one? does a engine without a turbo have enough pressure of air to make that sound that a BOV makes with a turbo engine? the reason i want to know is because i don't have 2 or 3 grand for a turbo but like the sound that the BOV makes when you shift or after you rev high.

You're kidding right? You do realize that if you did do that you would be the laughing stock of every real modder out there right?

I normally am not a fan of ripping on people but

Heres your answer...

Starts with a R and ends in ICE........

First off those speakers sound horribly fake and people will just make fun of you for it. Even other ricers would make fun of you!!.... Do yourself a favor and just forget about it. And technically yes you need a turbocharger on the car for a bov since you need to have a pressurized charge of air in the pipe to exit through a blow off/bypass valve....

you really want 7 psi or so to make a nice BOV sound. Any less and it isn't as distinct. The higher the PSI, the louder it sounds...

If you're trying to fake it, let me know how you get 7 psi without FI. You could have saved me some cash.

Sadly there are plenty of people that think way or something like this would not exist.

NO!

what i wanted was sound that the BOV makes. and what that was, was something that takes sound from another car, into your car, with out and real mods to your car. (even with just a turbo alone it does not make that sound like the BOV makes added with a turbo.) And what i was doing was wanting to buy the "actual" mod that would make a sound that my "actual" engine made. Not what a little electric machine makes. And if i got the BOV and it did work with out a turbo on my car, then at-least its an actual sound from "my" engine, not some computer.

Yeah, but everyone was ragging on you for the fact that you were after a sound instead of performance. Which is why they directed you to those speakers, because they are simply a sound with no performance attached aka, rice.

FYI, normal engine = - pressure = vacuum
Forced Induction engine (turbo/supercharged) = + pressure

Please, someone just ban him before he becomes the subject of a public flogging by someone less restrained than myself.
