Bunch of performance Qs

Ok so im new to this and i would like to add the most hp to my rx8 as possible. Its a 2006 auto (sadly) and i need help. I was thinking of getting a cold air intake any ideas about what is best? I am hoping for one under 400 but if it is nice i may be able to adjust. I have a budget of around a grand because I would like to get a turbo later. As well is it true i would need my rx8 to be a manual for a turbo to be added. Any other nice horsepower gains for a cheap price ideas.

I'm in a good mood ....

Wait no I'm not....

All your questions have been answered in other very active threads, have a look around.

No you do not have to have a manual transmission for a turbo.
Don't do a cold air intake for HP, they typically only provide noise and looks with maybe small (very small, if any, maybe negative, seriously) gains in HP

Try driving it stock for a bit so you can appreciate the mods that you will do...Since horsepower gains are so minimal no matter the mod, get coilovers...other than that...
FI or go home in terms of noticeable horsepower gains :D

youre gonna get flamed on here, buy an AEM intake and drive your car around a bunch. Yes you can turbo an automatic, If youre already sad you bought an automatic, sell it and buy a 6 speed. For a thousand bucks buy a midpipe and an Access port. If you have money left over buy an intake and get the bhr ignition.

Need more help now

Ok so I read that a short cold air intake hurts because it pulls hot air. Would any of you recommend a specific type of cold air intake that would add around 10 hp. Also does an intake tube like this one benifit more than one of the compact ones.

Also would one of these boxes be a good solution.

thank you.

Save some money for a turbo then custom or fabricate other mods: intake, blaa blaa blaa around the turbo. Basic mods dont do significant **** for the 8 except noise and wallet.
