There's a discussion that tells you everything you need to know, you can use the accessport to do the logs anyway

when you buy an AP from MM you get his calibration service for 6 months. You install the AP, follow his instructions for logging, then send the logs to him. he sends you a tune based off your logs, then you can keep logging and sending till you get a nice tune.

The first tune you get from MM based on your initial logs is pretty dramatic, then the subsequent ones as you would expect are more in the realm of fine tuning.

If you add other performance mod's in the interim that can further affect the tune and hence the value of the 6-month service.

Of course the more precisely you follow MM's rules for logging the better the results. It's not difficult but a co-pilot is a plus.

Once I buy it, will I get more specific instructions on the whole thing?

Yes, as well as having a great understanding before hand if you read everything in this website about the accessport before you buy. That way you can prevent asking silly questions that someone has already asked and looked silly for. This will also allow for more tune time after purchase as you will know how to send the logs and install them.

Follow Jeff's logging instructions to the letter. He has many tunes to accomplish and understandably can't deal with any "garbage in."

As unbelievable as it may be, I myself sent a flawed log and thereby lost some tuning-cycle time.
