Car wont start after coil upgrade.........

I recently removed my Mazsport coils and upgraded to the BHR yukon coils. This is not the 1st time I swap coils so I can pretty much do it with my eyes closed.

After installing the new coils I cant get the car to start. The battery is fully charged and I triple checked the spark plug connections.

What other things should I check?

Ground connection? Harness connections? Ya got me. Was there any splicing that had to be done with the old Mazsport kit?

I terminated the ground connection right beside the fuse box.

It's turning over but how do I know if I am getting spark?

I am confident with the ground connection. The harness connections were labeled 1,2,3,4 so that can't be it. No splicing was required with the Mazsport kit. It had its own wiring harness.

Could it be that my map has different dwell settings for the Mazsport coils?

This sounds stupid, but did you hook the battery back up after you were done?

Yes. Otherwise it would not turn over.

How likely would it be that my cobb accessport map is the cause since it has different dwell settings?

Edit: Jeff said it can't be the map. Grrrr. I ran out of ideas.

A few degrees of dwell is not going to stop the car from starting.
I would verify that the original wire harness connections are correct. The BHR coils are set up in relation to the front of the car, first coil being. L1,T1,L2,T2. Make sure these are correct.
Also move the ground away from the fuse panel and put it in front of the Master cylinder on the inner fender. There is already a ground point there.
Also,, I have to ask,, Did you take out the Mazsport Ignitor Box? It is not neccessry with these coils.

If you have doubts still about the AP,, just remove the flash and go back to stock and see if it starts.

All I can think of is that the wire harness is plugged in incorrect;y or the plug wires are incorrectly installed.
Push hard on the wire connections to make sure they are seated in the harness.

I think I know what the problem is but I don't know how it fix it.

I removed a spark plug and it was bone dry. I cranked the car over 3-4X for 6-8sec each so that's impossible.

There was a step that required the fuel lines (Tank/EVAP) to be disconnected when installing the Mazsport coils. When I removed the Mazsport coils I wanted to return the fuel lines back to stock but I mixed up the connections. I connected them to the wrong ports! When I disconnected the one on the right... the fuel pressure was nuts!

Something is blocking the fuel now.

I am referring to step #12

Did you switch the evap line for the fuel line?
Make sure the RED fuel line is supplying the rail.

Verify spark by putting a plug into one of the wires and rest it on the block and crank.
You could also use a timing light.

They are currently in the right possition but I think when they were wrong I pumped fuel into the wrong port and that is what is causing the blockage?

Ok the fuel lines are perfect. Here is a picture to confirm.

with the mazsport ignition there is a red male plug that plugged into a black connector that went to the oem ignition resistor/something. Did you fix that? Put it back stock?
If you switched those lines now what is holding all that gas that was pumped during the cranking attempts?
Once you reconnected maybe you flooded it?

Yes I did. It's called a condenser connector. I plugged the OEM wire back into it.

I pulled the plugs and they are bone dry so its not flooded.

I pumped fuel into the evap line. I am pretty sure that is what is causing the blockage.

I don't have a clue where to start to fix this issue.

Well, I don't think its a "blockage", but just pull the evap solenoid and blow it out with compressed air.
You really can't "block" the fuel line.
I noticed your fuel lines have neither the retainer or the internal cup. Where are they?

Ok I will give that a try.

The clips were removed before I took the pic.

So, you've pulled the red line to verify fuel pressure and you've verified spark with a timing light or a plug?

re - verifying spark with a plug

brings back memories to how I used to test for fowled plugs on my old Honda CR 125. Pull the plug and hold it next to the frame... crank the motor and you should see the spark jump.

grab a lighter and burn out the fuel in the line.

heh... even better, hold the plug next to the port previously used for fuel in error... if you get a bang then you know the spark is good

(same disclaimer as Jedi)
