Cobb or Clutch/Flywheel?
I own a 2004 8 Grand Touring (6 speed). I dont plan on making any huge modifications to the car, mainly just bolt on parts. I just put the K&N Typhoon intake on (which I love, quite loud at full throttle). Im thinking my next addition is either going to be a Cobb AccessPort or an ACT clutch and flywheel set up.
My dad manages a shop so labor rates arent an issue for me. My roommate owns a 97 240sx and has done ACT clutch and an N1 exhaust setup. The clutch made a night and day difference in his car, I didnt see so much in the exhaust. The Cobb only makes 10 hp on a stock motor, so Ive read (the intake added about 10 hp per K&N, which I did notice some difference at higher revs.) but Ive heard the Cobb has many more useful features than just adding horsepower.
Any ideas or comments would be fantastic. Thanks.

Yes, there's other nice things about the AP, but I'm also wondering about the hp improvements compared with or in combination with the new BHR coils. You can get more power by leaning out the a/f mix with the AP. You can also probably get a modest hp bump by improving the spark with the BHR coils, and you're going to need new coils anyway if you don't already. Something to think about.

I got the BHR clutch set up before I got my AP.
I personally felt that the clutch/flywheel set up added more to acceleration than the AP did, but together, they add a lot to the feeling of acceleration (I can't say how much to the realized acceleration cuz I have yet to hit the track) and yeah, it is very addicting.
you can't go wrong with either. I say, get both :P

My opinion on lightened flywheels has been modified to some extent now that I have gotten to drive a few '8s with one installed.
It is definitely a good "feel" mod.
I'm not convinced one way or another about the power "added", but it certainly wont hurt and it does give you a different throttle response.
The AFE shifter is KILLER. Highly recommended.
The AP is what it is. If its benefits don't sell itself to you, then don't feel pressured into getting one.
