Cold Air Intake?

Cold Air Intake?
I'm looking into cold air intakes for my new RX 8 and I am a little lost with the differences between them. The only one that provides a dyno sheet for is the K+N typhoon. So if anyone could point me in a better direction than I already headed or if there is a tread that discusses this point me at that. Thanks

First off, the K&N typhoon is not a cold air intake. The design is a short ram intake which, unless used exactly as intended, normally results in hot engine air being drawn into the intake decreasing performance.
The factory intake believe it or not is actually very well designed and is already able to draw in cold air from outside the engine bay. Any dyno sheets either show incorrect numbers or advertise numbers other than "peak horsepower" which is what you want.
As a person who has dealt with numerous intakes I suggest sticking with your stock intake and throwing in a K&N drop in filter. Use that $300 for something more useful like suspension parts, brake pads or something fun!
