confirmed delivery of stage 1

Jeff - Mine stated Jan. 28 as the approximate date for delivery. It says it was shipped Jan. 15. Should it take 2 weeks or is FedEx covering their butts and it should get here sooner?

I got a similar e-mail. Shipped on 1/15 and due on 1/27. A while back I ordered some other parts from Canzoomer and he shipped them via the Postal Service. I had the package in 5 days. So what is up with FedEX? For how much they charge you would expect them to be a little more prompt about delivery.

I can not see how fed express ground can take that long, i think as time goes by the dates of delivery will change.(maybe because of customs also) i do not know why he just did not ship the by plane.

More than likely it was a business decision that resulted in a reduced cost from FedEx over USPS and flying it would be that much more. Just a thought. Though $55 is still pretty hefty, IMO.
It will get here when it gets here I suppose. I'm just happy that I got it for 5 Ben Franklins instead of 7! :D

Harddata (Canzoomer's company) have a lot of experience shipping stuff all over the world. I've seen some of the results. His quote: "This is a UPS free zone" is for a good reason (how DO you manage to crush the processor chip when you ship a computer???). Someone mentioned the international parcel post org. - he likes that method, but there was some reason he doesn't use it to the US.
He uses Fedex Ground (different branch than "Fedex air") because the price with performance are the best available. I believe customs clearance is included in the price. That alone costs $35 or so when bringing stuff into Canada via UPS.

RX-8 Friend,
Thanks for the explanation of the high shipping charges. I also looked up the rates on FedEX.com and noticed the high prices first hand.
I can't wait to install it and I view this as just being another small price to pay to get the car tuned properly.
