Cusco LSD Problem PLEASE HELP
Well i ve installed my cusco type rs 1.5way lsd in my rx8(as i know this is an fd3s lsd anyhow...)
The problem is you can hear a lot of noises when turning slow in a corner and the BIG PROBLEM is that sometimes after some driving all the lights in the gauge pod comes up but without this making any problem in the driving..
The abs,the traction and the handbrake if i can remember correctly come up and stay up..And if i try to push the dsc nothing happens..
What should i do??
Its annoying and the lights and the noises!!
Chris

it's called LSD chatter and is typically normal
sometimes it can be compounded by not breaking in the LSD clutch discs properly, also if the incorrect oil is used
one of the reasons I went with the Kaaz solid diff with WPC clutch plate treatment is because it reduces the low speed chatter to almost nothing, they do require you to use their lube only and it's not inexpensive; $44 + shipping for a 2L can. They say synthetic oils cause chatter in their diff. You might ping Cusco for their ideas.
I have a Base model though so I'm not sure about the DSC/dash warning situation, manufacturers do sometimes choose specific types of LSDs to avoid DSC conflicts

I don't think that is what Team is suggesting. He did suggest a couple of things though, as to the normal chatter that the LSD will make, as well as some companies using certain products with their DSC.
His suggestion to hit up Cusco is probably what I would suggest first. There are a couple of race teams that are using the Cusco LSD...you may want to hit them up as well, since they will have situational experience....they may have some ideas for you since they actually use the system.
