Road test went very well. No hesitation, no stalling, no CELS. Car picks up good and runs smooth. Took it up to 75mph in 3rd......no breaking up between 5-6k rpms like my first design did. No breaking up between 5-6k rpms in any of the gears. After 200 mile trip the intake pipe was cool to the touch......as we all know this may vary in different temps. It's about 54 degrees here today...so still pretty cool outside. I'm very happy with my build.

Not to diminish your build or anything... btw, good job.....

But why put so much effort into something that doesn't put that much power down? Am I missing something?

I don't feel I put a lot of effort into it cause it was something I wanted to do. I was also just trying to prove to myself that I could make a CAI that actually worked and possibly save ppl a few hundred bucks over the ones that claim 8,10 and even 15 whp gains. I spent less than $140 making this intake. I feel my intake is comparable to the ones that are out for a 1/3 of the price. If the others give you 3-4 whp and mine gives you 2-3 whp then I have definately given ppl another option at a much cheaper price. Hell if mine only gives you 1 whp then I'm still ahead of the game......gotta think positive man. I'm not a what if person....like the NIKE ads......I just do it. If you had driven my car when I had the Umnitza on it you would notice the difference my intake made. The Umnitza was restrictive....do a search as there are others who claim or proved the same thing. Wish I had known before I wasted the money on the Umnitza.

Nice work on that intake, a very nice and professional job, well done. You dont have to justify your time or money spent with this DIY as the whole point is to Do It Youself and get that sense of achievement and self fulfilment. Anybody with a few dollars can buy and fit, or pay a professional to fit an aftermarket mod. No big deal.
I believe that most if not all of the aftermarket automotive parts are made by enthustiasts who started out with the right imagination and initative to Do It Themselves. So with that I do wish you the very best of luck.
