Custom dual resonated turboxs exhaust...
Well i went and had another resonator welded on my turboxs exhaust today and im very happy with the results.....it so much more livable....it sounds like i have a "normal exhaust"......now i can just drive normally and its not too loud....but it still has that great turboxs sound.......only cost me 25 dollars for the cut and weld and 40 dollars for the resonator off ebay.....IF YOU OWN A TURBOXS AND THINK ITS TOO LOUD YOU GOTTA TRY THIS IT WORKED GREAT!!!

muffler, resonator etc. i thought they were all the same. i inquired about a custom one today at a muffler shop, about adding another 3" muffler but custom guy wasn't in.. i know someone else that bought a cheap muffler off ebay and it melted three days later..

Question, I have a full 3" custom exhaust with minimal bends and no mufflers. Haven't installed it yet, bought it off someone. Decided to throw in a RP Supercat to avoid the CEL, if needbe, is it possible to throw a resonator even behind the cat for less sound? Or are mufflers a better option?

Yeah, but Im asking, it's possible to throw one on behind the cat right? I already have a resonated midpipe on the exhaust, I was thinking about cutting it off, welding the cat instead, then welding the resonator back on behind the cat...if noise was too loud.

it will be extremely loud without resonators and mufflers, even with a cat converter
try one of these for a resonator, but check your dimensional space

or if you have the dough and are concerned with weight, get one of these with the stainless packing option:

a true resonator is tuned to silence certain frequencies to eliminate rasp, but not so much sound reduction

yeah, i was thinkin bout that in my sleep. without being too much of a nerd and lookin it up, intuitively, I'd think a 'muffler' as the name implies, is an anti-resonator,.. resonate reminds me of constructive interference of two frequencies whereas isn't muffler the opposite?
i have no problem with weight or sound, and don't mind being a little louder if i have the power to back it up... in time i guess.. even then my system is way too loud, lol..
ps; thanks for the links team, that's exactly what i had in mind and am going to do that
