Custom Messages/Data/Gages on Nav Display

I posted this question on someone else's thread but thought it best to ask a larger group of people.

Does anyone know if the nav system is on the CAN bus? If so, do you know if you can actually get information from the CAN bus to display on the screen?

The reason I ask is that the DataLogger could take some of the data it is logging and send it to the nav display provided there is a "CAN to nav display" pipe. It is a bit of a far fetched idea but, if it could be pulled off, it would provide a nice configurable gage set up for the RX-8 without modification to the car.

Another thought while showering-

I've been goofing with some 3.5" active matrix color displays (think Gameboy here). Would there be any interest in adding a 3.5" display to the DataLogger so you could display whatever you choose to? The choice of what value (or values) to display could be configurable. It might even be worth dong a sexy milled aluminum case so it looks good in the car and fits in just the right place (wherever that is).

I always thought it'd be cool to have my nav converted to a giant tach on screen. And when I'm high enough, the screen just flashes "NOW!!"
