Customized stock intake 1 of a kind

OK first I need to thank superscout03 for giving me the idea from his custom intake pics.

The intake has a K&N drop filter in it and I etched the plexi glass with a dremil tool. There is weather stripping to prevent water from entering the intake box. It's a little rough around the edges but that's why I'm contacting IPT to see if they can make a carbon kevlar Red/blk cover for this box.

You should make a template and sandblast it. I was thinking about sandblasting an RX-8 onto my plexi but I love your idea.

Great work

Thumbs up

Cutting out a template from very thick rubber tape and then sandblast it is defenately the easiest way to go. You can get different depth and colorise the diffrent layers. That´s what I´m having done to one of my enginecovers this coming month. I´ll post some pics during the process... And it´s a great way of adding custom one of a kind design to your 8 in a discrete way.

It took me a total of 4-5 days to complete. And good idea about the sandblasthing guys, I don't have one though so I did it by hand. I do know someone that has one and I could just make it again it will come out more crip and clean on the edges like that too.

Thank,
Brian
