Deedubbs HKS Single Sided Hi Power Exhaust
Just picked up the new HKS Single Sided Hi Power Ti. exhaust. Man, this thing is awesome! It really brings out the rotary sound the rx8 has been missing. As I stated in the previous thread about the exhaust, this was specifically made for turbocharged applications. There was a significant increase in power vs. that of a standard aftermarket exhaust. I can't release any dyno information as of yet, but I have seen first hand of what this exhaust can do for turbocharged rx8's. On top of that, it weigh's in at 23 lbs (including center pipe). The tip is titanium and is adjustable, great for those that get body kits (you won't be underhung). Installation took me less than an hour (with 3 people helping out) haha. The exhaust note measured in at 97db vs. the other hks legamax exhaust which was at 94db. Like I said, it sounds more like a rotary now. At idle, there is a noticable difference in sound. This exhaust can be used for non turbocharged 8's as well. In case your wondering what i did with the empty exhaust shroud on the right, I made a grill that attached to the inside of it and painted it a semi gloss black. Enjoy the pix and video.

I love the sound, I just wish it looked more normal to me to have a single exahust. If only I could have that sound with a double. Other then that i'm sure you're really happy with the sound.

that is a great sound not one for me but i still like it. very much more like a rotary sounded. the 3 clips on you tube are all great as well. I have to say i am not a fan of the single but it serves ie purpose....i am not sure are you FI are you thinking about it?

big question: is there a cat-deletion mid-pipe (racepipe) available from HKS with this cat-back or will there be? I would like to see the numbers and then compare them with the full TurboXS setup (mid-pipe and exhaust).
i like the idea of a single-side exhaust. however, i'd also like to see a decent rear bumper made to accomodate it.

I love how you made the car look more natural with the screen. I'd be interested in how this exhaust sounds with a turbo on it, though. I understand that the power gains are better and that it's designed for performance, but the sound at high RPMs made me wince - not quite my tastes. It's still an awesome part.
