DIY for midpipe + cat?
Hi,
I haven't been able to find a DIY post for installing a midpipe/hi-flow cat. Since I don't know if there's anything weird or tricky like finding out the exhaust is welded instead of clamped, it would be quite helpful to get the advice of someone who's done it.
Thanks!

There are 3 bolts that need to be removed that attach the cat pipe to the manifold pipe.
There is an O2 sensor that needs to be unscrewed from the cat itself.
There are 2 bolts to be removed from the cat pipe where it attachs to the muffler section of the exhaust. There are also two springs on this side that you need to keep and reuse. The nuts are used here to compress the springs over the bolts on the cat pipe.
There is one exhaust hanger near the rear of the cat pipe that needs to lubricated with WD40 or soapy water to slide out the hanger from the rubber boot.
There is a gasket that you should be able to reuse that attaches at the manifold end. There is another gasket of sorts that you should also be able to resuse that attaches at the muffler end. I would also recommend using a silicone gasket such as this:

It is really not that hard or complex. Unattach in all of these areas and the reattach along the same lines. Takes a few hours with jackstands. PM if you have specific questions.
