Do Pressure Plates Wear Out?
I'm going to be replacing my OE clutch soon, only has 40k on it but I feel like its time because my throwout is squeaking like a loose belt and it takes a goliaths foot to dis-engage my clutch.
My question: Is my clutch pedal stiff because the clutch master cylinder, (slave has been replaced by the dealer attempting to fix the issue), because I have air in the line (dealer said they bleed it when installing the new slave), maybe the throwout bearing or fork is fucked up, or are the springs on the pressure plate worn out?
NOTE: my clutch also makes a strange scrunch/creep noise toward the END of being depressed, right around where it actually dis-engages/engages.

and yes you can wear out a flywheel.. rare and usually by bad driving habits, which i am sure you do not have...

I swear to God that I'm seeing double
yes, PP's wear out, on this car they even self destruct, get a new one or I have a pair of used, low mileage PP/disc that I can let one go
the symptom on self adjusting clutches wearing out is it getting very stiff near the point of needing replacement

Sounds good Team, send me the lowest mileage/best condition one you have, gimme a price, do you happen to have the throwout/pilot/tranmission bearings too?
And would you mind lending me the pilot bearing puller tool and i'll send it back to you once i'm done with it.

my trip back to TX where the best one is located is now delayed from this weekend until the following weekend
I don't have a pilot bearing removal tool, sorry, it can probably be rented from an auto parts store or tool rental business

not on that one, I bought it as a spare, it looks excellent in all regards, low mileage unit that someone took off for a new aftermarket flywheel and clutch install
the other one I have came off my car, I bought a new OE clutch figuring I'd replace it when I pulled off the last busted tranny because the spare above was back in TX, ended up regretting it since it doesn't look all that worn either, didn't need replacing so I'm happy to keep it as a spare now
