you are correct sir. i'm thinking of just buying the RE Amemiya kit and tweaking it to use braille auto's all season battery. then we'll see what's what. from my inquiries the RE A kit's washer tank can be mounted on either side of the wet battery brackets. i'm hoping braille's universal mount kit can be used in conjuction with wet battery brackets.

all you need to do is have something similar to this fabricated, then some cables, terminal hardware etc., it really doesn't get much easier if you're handy and have some basic tools. This is basically what I made for mine using light gauge stainless:

i very well may go the fabrication route, but for now i'd like to maintain wiper fluid functionality via a washer tank of some sort. the RE A kit fits that bill.

teamrx8 did you keep your washer fluid tank in place or just ditch it all together?

I mounted mine down low off the back of the custom intake box for initial simplicity. Relocating the fluid washer tank is not an STU-legal mod. I am relocating it to the trunk over the winter. I need to move 45 lb from the front to the rear in order to have a perfect 50/50 weight balance. The battery, mount, and new cables will add up to about 18 - 20 lbs of that amount.

by jove you're right. i'm not sure how i got it into my head to do something along the lines of the RE A kit, but reviewing the 2006 solo rules this morning, it isn't mentioned and so isn't legal. well, in a sense that's a relief, but relocating the battery to the trunk is a brand new challenge.

I relocated mine with a kit from Taylor Vertex. You can find them online for $50. Installation is easy if you follow the amplifier DIY to run the red cable from the engine to the trunk.

I used molly bolts to install it since there is not enough room under the trunk pan to use tools.

The only picture I have of the battery (now an Optima red top) is this.

in the turbo kit pics in mazsport's vendor forum, i'm not seeing the battery relocated except for moving it across the engine bay next to the fuse box.

Since I do not have the spare tire in the trunk, I used that cross brace for a mounting point for the battery/battery box. The box I made out of 1/8" 6061 aluminum, to keep it light and strong.
If any one decides to relocate the battery to the trunk, make sure you run the ground back to the battery! I found out the hard way.
Thought I would post just to give you an idea if you would want to DIY. It might save you some money. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Thats definitely unique, but you'll never get track time with that setup, NASA would nix it, SCCA would nix it..any anyone else that cares about -your- safety should as well.

if you wanna play racer, you gotta play by the same safety guidelines as we do.
