Dynojet, Turbo XS Full Race + AEM Intake = 195 whp

Just got back from our FLrx8club.net dyno session, first time dyno after the Turbo XS and AEM Intake install. Pulled a 195.05 in 4th. That is 22hp over my base line. Will post a sheet after Betsy gets home (they emailed it to her).

so much for the belief that intakes and exhausts dont give any real gains....id say 22hp is a nice chunk....thats about a 13% gain over stock.....

just match the part number. if the part is 21-485 then it's legit. You'll be fine.

also, his stock dyno was poor.. 173 is below average. I dyno'd 184 bone stock...

There are gains to be had, this goes in line with just about everything people assume. Cat back will give you about 3-4, midpipe will give you 6-8, a GOOD intake will maybe give you few ( the revi actually gained 7 in Dtuneds dyno test). About 15-20 HP to play with just from intake and catless exhaust.

Provided ambient conditions were exactly the same.
1" of mercury added on the barometer (29.4" one day and 30.4" the next) can equal 4% increase in power. The baro here in Phoenix can swing that much in one hour, several times a day.
10°F cooler ambient temps does the same.
SAE correction only works if it is applied universally on the same, calibrated dyno.

I hope DD's investment did give those kinds of returns.
But these results would be so atypical as to be anomalous.

Not just the items MM listed, but also other factors, such as the quality of the gas in your tank (which can vary even in the same gas station as fuel gets closer to the bottom of the tanks) between runs, or if anything such as coils were replaced.

Really, the best route is to dyno it back to back in the same day, but as MM pointed out, even that doesn't bring much assurances.

btw, does anyone know the ID of the OEM exhaust manifold? I'm curious if it's 3" or smaller. If it's smaller, then I really wonder how much gain one should expect from getting a 3" exhaust system when the restriction isn't really eliminated.

Lol, I'm sure any kind of SAE correction is a heck of a lot more comparable than doing uncorrected dyno runs.

But then again,... if the dude is inputting weather data(temp, humidity, etc) from a $20 weather station that isn't very accurate either...

The SAE on my dyno took me down like 6 hp.... to 206 hp.... I'm not sure people would enjoy me doing dyno runs uncorrected at 40 degrees F

Its 1.5"/1.75"/2.5".
The outlet is 2.5".

However, there is a "telescoping" effect on gas scavenging when you progressively increase the exhaust diameter (in a limited way).

he knows that, he's asking what that would equate to at the crank. Maybe 225ish?

the s2k's actually dyno like between the 180ish and up. there was a mag out couple months ago with a stock s2k and it dynoed 182whp.( test and tune issuse) so its pretty much the same as our 8's as well as how our 8's respond to mods, the s2k's also has minimal gains towards mods.
