Enjoy your car and have fun with it. There is nothing wrong with doing your own mods or sticking with a buget. Those of us that work hard for a living respect that. Thanks for providing feedback on your upgrades so that the rest of us can make an educated decision on our upgrades.

It's hard to convice some to stand out side in the cold for u it was -15 today lol. **** new England. I started my car and it went straight to 5k on the tach .
I don't know if it's bad but I tap the gas and it goes down to like 1.5k...... Only when it's really cold.

I've never had mine out that cold, but when it is teens or so mine will kick up over 3k and slowly work it's way down. It's all computer controlled... I would not sweat it.

I'm glad people take the initiative on the cheaper products and find out they are really ok.

I just got another foot of snow in mass think it's up to 4 ft or so no lie. I was -15 the other day . I just get worried when the rpms shoot past 5 k. I read a bunch of times it bad to be over 4k when the motor isn't warmed up. If I tap the gas the idle will drop.
If u live in a snow area I highly recommend getting the cheapest snow tires and rims from tire rack. For the first few years I was stuck with the stock rims and u can't get real snow tires way to wide lol. I forget the name of the rims but the center cap says msw by oz and the tires are the firestone. Put it this way I havnt got stuck this year and the winter been the worse I've seen in years. Heck I had to help push a couple subarus with all season tires at work and I didn't need help with no weight in the trunk lol.
Quick story I bought the car then the market crashed pay cuts etc.so I wasnt able to get a winter beater . I used to get so stressed from snow I almost sold my rx8 from the stress etc the last few years I've had it. but I've been stress free since I was able to get smaller rims and skinny tires for the winter since work picked up.
I'm trying to figure out what I should do next to my car . Any ideas lol

I always thought that an ebay exhaust was really smart. You can have a shop replace mufflers for $40 if you have to. Did this setup include a catless mid pipe? I know exhausts don't regester a large hp increase as far as #'s go, but when I went catless I thought the power band was much longer and smoother.

I really dont get why theres always someone hating on the ebay exhaust, Ive read a couple threads like this and so far I havnt come across one that have any of the ebay exhaust "failing" or breaking or performing in anyway less then a "reputable" exhaust does.(correct me if Im wrong)
Also since stainless steal is stainless steal (or titanium or w.e) no matter who makes the exhaust I would think that ebay or expensive brand would weigh about the same, and the flow would probably just as unrestrictive because there probably built about the same way. So idk Id like to see a acuall dyno test of the ebay exhausts Id bet that it has very comparable power gains to well know brand name products and about the same weight. again correct me if Im wrong, just my thoughs, I really dont see any disadvantage to the ebay exhaust and even if it only last half as long as brand name products its still half the price of almost any brand name exhaust so you could go through 2 of them.

Mine is 2.25" ID, 2.36" OD (60mm)
That is the same as stock, however with mandrel bends and dual straight through mufflers I believe it is somewhat less restrictive than stock, unless it melts.

I'mma firin' mah lazor!!!
Oltmann, did you ever get the exhaust installed? I've been considering picking up some of these eBay parts and writing reviews on them. Were you satisfied with the product? It seems they just released a header as well.

Yes, I've had it installed for about two months, and a bit under 2k miles. I like it so far. It is pretty quiet at idle, and there is no drone while cruising. Wide open lets out the angry bumble bee type noise. This is with the stock cat. As warwickben said, the pipes and the welds look good. The mufflers are (I think) a straight through design, and they literally came labelled "Honda Civic."
The pipes are the same size as stock, which has received some criticism, however mufflers typically limit flow. I have no way to estimate that.
The tips of the model I got yellow quickly due to heat, as there is no inner liner.
I posted two videos, a poorly executed flyby, and the other is my much derided "racing" video.

I have read that the high exhaust gas temperatures of rotaries will degrade some muffler packing materials. I have no idea what is inside these mufflers, stainless steel wool, rock wool, or Chinese newspapers. However, I've noticed no problems yet.
