I have the Racing Beat cat back & SR Motorsports hi-flow cat (w/ resonator). Love the setup. O2 sensor hooks right up. Going catless you will probably have to get something like a casper o2 fooler. I didn't like the exhaust tips on the Greddy (rolled tips) but other than that it is a very good unit.

How's the sound? Is it really loud for daily driving?
Any CEL issues? Any video clips?
Thanks.

RB catback is going to be to restrictive for turbo..you're going to want something more open...Greddy, B&B, Borla, Espelir...i have the Espelir and coming soon the SR HF cat w/ reson...sounds awesome and will handle a turbo quite well...

If you were to go turbo, which catback exhaust would flow the best with a SR HF cat....just curious.
There has go to be some variation in flow between the exhausts. Biggest piping, straight through mufflers and shortest piping. I am not for sure, but shouldn't the aftermarket exhausts have some variation in these aspects and design. I mean even a little can help a lot for a turbo.

In terms of piping the Greddy, RB & Borla I believe all have 3" piping. The Mazdaspeed seemed a bit smaller to me when I saw it. It looked 2.75" or maybe even 2.5". Everybody gets about the same in terms of hp gain (2-3 hp) so I'm not sure that one flows exceptionally more than another.
RX8 Ownz,
I absolutely loved the sound of my car when I had just the RB exhaust on it, but after I got the hi-flow cat & resonator I thought it was a bit too loud. Now that I have a turbo on it, it sounds like stock.

and no RB does NOT flow like the others do..the internal baffling on them is TOTALLY different...not saying that some of the others aren't the same...but to say that RB flows the same or just as much as the others is naive...

For turbocharged, you want the least amount of restrictions as possible, and I believe its not the exhaust that has the restrictions, but the midpipe.
I'm also looking into exhaust options does anyone have any experience with the Tanabe exhaust? I've seen that they make one, but I havent actually heard of anyone running it. I know a lot of NA Honda guys like running them because they sound good, but thats about all I know about them.

There is no leak at the b-pipe, and judging by how the cat flange is made, there was no way the exhaust flange could completely mate in the first place. I just wanted to make sure that another HKS owner had the same issue.

Between the two you can see the exhaust doughnut gasket.
