Exclamation Exhaust !!!! which one

Any advice for a quiet exhaust, I want just a little rev sounds but not a monster breathing. Please don't ask stock exhaust please.

I heard racing beat is not loud? maybe?

Might I suggest instead of a new muffler you purchase a High Flow catalytic converter....it should cost half as much as an exhaust system and give you twice the horsepower gains.....plus it should be slightly louder.....

My rb has 3" exhaust tips, not too deep of a sound(but rumbles more than stock) and at WOT you can really hear it come alive. You still have the high rotary whine with it and it does not sound like a v8

^^^^ I've also noticed that the sound seems to be getting better with more miles on it. At first I barely noticed a difference but now I can really hear it. Especially when I crank her up right after my brother cranks up his stock Accord v6

rb tips are 3 inch? hmm.. i always thought they were 4. i'll go measure later. i just stated it off of the rb website, never looked myself.

the high rotary whine is the engine. if you want more whine, go get an intake.

Yup, rb tips are 3 inch. The sound is perfect, not too loud unless you really get into it. And if you do, you're probably booking so you have wind/road noise...

It's just the right sound to have you grinning, and without your neighbors complaining.

What are you guys talking about, the website clearly says 4 inches, if it is wrong I am starting to doubt racing beats cred.

I have a MS duel and they are 3.5" and the RB looks bigger then they are. I also saw a RB the other day, 4" sounds right.

MS is nice, light and sounds great, it is half way between a RB and some of the louder exhausts sound wise. I do like the double walled angle tips on it.

Either that or I'm using the same measuring tape that we guys always use when making "other measurements".

I must have been thinking about the tubing which is 3in, not the tips which are 4in.

when you buy a brand new aftermarket exhaust, it takes a few hundred (or less) miles to break in. the breaking in of the exhaust has a bi-product of getting louder/deeper/thoatier etc...

i learned that just recently after i put my racing beat... which sounds amazing by the way

I have the GReddy SP2 and I like it. It's got a nice suttle rumble but when you want to open it up it sounds great. All of the cat-backs are quite nice, so its more about what sound you want and how much you want to spend. My friend has an rb exhaust on his 8 and his sound is a bit louder but higher.

And based on those sound clips I would say the Greddy is significantly higher in tone than the RB. Or maybe my ears are deceiving me?...

RB sounds great..does anyone know where I can source one in Australia?

Heard many aftermarket RX-8 sounds, and if exotic is what your looking for, its gotta be racing beat. Polak has the REVi + RB Exhaust on his car and it sounds like a damn Ferrari. Hes a good frind of mine and I drive in the car quite a bit, it really is the best sounding exaust for the RX-8 hands down, and you cant go wrong with Racing Beats quality and dedication to the rotary. I will say if your looking for a more raspy "rx-7"ish sound, the MazdaSpeed does a great job of that, and its covered by your warranty if you have Mazda install it.

I would also have to say that Greddy and the BB sound like riced civics IMO.

I actually have the Greddy installed on my 8 and I couldn't disagree more (at least not the Civics I hear around hear). It's also not that loud as was implied by previous posts that I've read on this forum.

link is with the Greddy plus RP Supercat but gives you an idea of Greddy sound

I don't think the agency exhaust is out yet, they keep delaying it's release date.
