Fastest N/A

With regard to the originally posted topic, are there particular aero mods that are particularly helpful for maximising top speed? Particularly, reduction or at least minimising of drag and creating a decent low pressure area near the exhaust outlets without excessive drag would seem to be the best option. Are any rear diffusers wind-tunnel tested?

Does the euro rear lip spoiler have the same mounting hole positions as the Standard US rear wing? If nothing else, it might not screw up the automatic dimming of the rear view mirror like the Standard US rear wing does, and a small reduction in drag coefficient might just sweeten the deal.

Loose some major weight because there isn't too much to do as far as n/a.
I spent a lot of time looking for a way to stay n/a and gain overall speed but none were worth it when compared to f/i.
I decided to get a motorcycle and wait till I have the mula to cover going supercharged.

For the couple grand it would take to get an rx8 to 210-220 whp, it wouldnt be worth it.
At that point, it would be more cost efficient to do nitrous, or boost.
Thats all Im saying I think nitrous is the best route for the rx8 if you want cheap horsepower, as Im sure you know

At least you would have 230-240 whp instead of 210-220 and it would still be cheaper, at least initially. (May cost more after a year or two of constantly refilling the bottle )

So Charles, you are doing the 65-shot right now? With your NA dyno at 213, I figure when spraying you're putting down close to 270? Hot damn!
270whp on nitrous, 1/6 the cost (even then debatable) of an equivalent forced induction setup.

270whp with nitrous is damn impressive, I would be more than satisfied with that

I think anything between 250 and 300rwp is decent. I'm a firm believer in FI but the prices of RX8 turbo and supercharger kits plus the possibility of a engine rebuild is just to much. I understand that you have to pay to play but I think alot of the kits are way over priced (anything in the 5-8k range). Some people say the prices are high because the RX8 is a niche car but you can get a turbo kit for other unpopular cars for half the price with brand name parts. My daily driver is a turbo 95 accord with a slush box and the turbo kit only cost $2500. The kit came with a Turbonetics turbo, Blitz blowoff valve, Spearco intercooler, and engine management . I love my RX8 but I think some aftermarket part suppliers are just raping people.

We got over 20 ponies on a Mustang dyno tune so I believe I'm at 222 rwp now

I also believe that Nitrous is prob the most cost effective HP booster(in the start not counting any engine rebuilds etc etc) however ur nitrous is only there when u "hit" it so it's not going to b constantly say 270 HP you still have ur 220 all the time until u spray(of course unless u just spray all the time you are moving but that's where ur costs go sky high because of putting anew engine in everyday)
However when u go turbo or s/c that power is there all the time(when into the boost on Turbo) but it's anytime u want it there is nothing to "add" inito the mixture to gain power it's there if u want it

250-300? Based on what? Most idiots behind the wheel are looking at suicide with 10:1 weight:power ratio.
Put your money where your mouth is and open a shop of your own. Then you'll see why the RX-8 turbo kits are so "expensive". The market is much smaller but the development costs are the same.

This does suck, but we are fortunate that there are a handful of solid vendors making genuinely good parts for the RX-8 as opposed to the "me too!" vendors who throw out crappy systems to get a few extra bucks from the RX-8 community. We have to treat the good vendors right because most of the time their R&D costs equal or exceed the profit they make from the parts to begin with.
