You definitely feel the clutch grab harder and faster.
Now I just have to figure out why I smell tranny fluid when I'm driving.
I've checked for leaks, and there are none at the bottom.
I spilled a few drops when I filled it up, but I cleaned it pretty good, and that would have burned off by now.
My fear is that maybe one of the bolts on the tranny is slightly loose.
We did check every bolt several times as we put everything together.
Re: Pilot Bearing.
This was my first clutch replacement, I had no idea what was involved. I just ordered the parts and removed/tightened whatever Speeddemon32 said to do.
If I would have known about the pilot bearing, I would have spent the $50 for the removal tool. Like kwescott said, it was tons of chiseling to remove it. I think he loosened it for me before I got started.

Edit: Found out that the pilot bearing removal tool is actually $111.
For that price, I'd rather do what we did. If you get a good chisel, and a good bit on a drimel, it would probably take about an hour.

I dont think the flywheel voids teh tranny warranty.... I think they were stating that the CLUTCH has a year. the tranny is a part of the drive train. that should have full warranty no matter what.
I dont see how a flywheel would void tranny warranty.
just my .02

he is using 1/2 gun.
the center bolt is supposed to be like 350 ft pounds or some stupid high number like that. I just hit it as hard as I can with my gun, thats about the best you can do.
on the 6 bolts holding it to the counterweight I did that by hand, it using an impact just be a little carefull like you would on lug nuts. i dont know the exact specs here.

You'll definately see the difference from stock, but I doubt there is that much difference from flywheel to flywheel....
I have the ACT Prolite.

the only true test would be for someone to take the SAME car, do 3 dyno runs with EACH flywheel. that is the only true test for anything.
but of course you can make up your mind by looking at the info provided and taking a guess.
the Fidanza IS the lightest, BUT it also does not have the outer edge removed like the prolite ot the MS. Racing beat is much like the Fidanza but a little heavier. you really have to look at the design, total weight, and price to take the best guess.
I went with the Prolite as well. seemed like the best price to performance ratio for me.

Nice! that sucks then that they are charging $92 to simply pull the clutch off, then the flywheel. but i guess compared to the cost it would have been to do it it's not all that bad. I guess kinda a "you both win" situation. :D

a 5-speed? Hmmmm, thats odd.
Well, I will let the rotary experts respond to this one, but my assumption would be that it would work the same.

yes there is a 5 speed manual in Japan. I would assume that it does fit, but I do not know that for sure. I really dont see them using a differant flywheel, so the only concern would be spline.... considering they used the same spline as a TII...... I really highly doubt there would be a problem using the 5 speed.
although I am curiouse as to why you would want to put a 5 speed in your car when you already have a 6 speed. top end is no higher, and bottom end suffers.
