flywheel opinions??

Ok i am getting ready to have my stage 1 clutch masters clutch put in my mazda, and i was wondering if it would be worth the xtra bux to go ahead and put in the actprolight flywheel or just have my old flywheel turned and leave it alone.

now ive read bunches of threads about this flywheel and have mixed feelings. i do alot of drag racing on and off of track for stops to rolling races. am i going to gain any accelaration w/ have the lightwieght or should i just keep the stock one? the mods i have are ap pulley, intake, greddy exhaust, rb flash, clutch, short throw shifter. knowing that is my lightweight flywheel gonna make me faster or just smoother down shifting?

thanks for any help.

from what ive read it sounds like to me it sounds like i wont gain any accel from the flywheel. but i would like some of your opinions

get a light flywheel.

I loved it when I got mine. Much faster pickup from standing starts

if your tranny is being dropped, that's the best time to have it done. otherwise it'll cost you ~$350 down the road just for labor if you decide to do it.

A couple of my friends race dragsters. They said don't do it.

You gain acceleration but loose torque with flywheels.

They will take torque any day. As torque is what pulls you.

Got to think of top end and midrange.

If you go FI, thre's no need for light flywheel as you have plenty of torque.

yeah but surely he isnt racing a dragster. If you don't want to hit the clutch from standing at 4000 revs every time, a light flywheel will get you going from 0 revs quicker.
